Hawks Fire Ferry After DUI Arrest



After only being on the job for a few months, the Atlanta Hawks have fired Danny Ferry. The team announced the firing via a press release. Ferry was recently arrested for a DUI and a bag of cocaine was found by police during the search of his car.

When reached for a comment, Ferry's lawyer gave a no comment. Hawks Assistant GM N3LL will step in Ferry's role for the time being.

THE FACTS: Louis Williams scored 30 points in Hawks debut to led Atlanta to a 115-95 win over Houston. Point guard Jeff Teague finished with 19 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assist. Josh Smith put in 17 points and 9 boards. James Harden scored 20 points and dished out 6 assist in his Rockets debut. jeremy Lin helped out with 16 points and 8 assist.

THE STAT: Forward Anthony Tolliver only played 10 minutes but attempted 10 free throws, making 6 of them.

TURNING POINT: Josh Smith landed a off the glass alley hoop to himself to end the first quarter giving the Hawks a 31-15 lead.

HOT: Lou Williams went 5/9 from behind the arc.

NOT: James Harden shot 9-27 from the field and 0-5 from three.

ROOKIE WATCH: Royce White of the Houston Rockets had 6 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals in 16 minutes of playing time.

Greg Oden To Atlanta?

Injury prone big man Greg Oden was given a workout by the Atlanta Hawks today. Sources say Oden could sign a 1 year min. deal with the team sometime this week. Oden was said to be moving well during the workout, even dunking the ball multiple times.

On March 15, 2012, Oden was waived by the Blazers to create room on the roster for trade acquisitions. Playing 82 games in his entire career so far, he has effectively played one full NBA season over the span of five seasons from 2007 to 2012. In May 2012, Oden announced his intention to sit out the 2012–13 season to focus on rehabbing his injuries but it appears he will try to play this year.
