1 Hour Ago by Martellus Clark | ESPNportland
Auburn Hills, MI -- The Blazers came into Detroit a night after losing in Brooklyn, and notched their 3rd road victory of the season with a 105-98 victory against the Pistons. Led by Thomas, (29 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists) the Blazers overcame an early 10-point deficit, also trailing by 9 at the half.

The Pistons, (2nd in the league in opponent FG%) allowed the Blazers to shoot 51% for the game. Both teams shot 48% in the first half, but the 3rd quarter explosion by the Blazers, which they shot 61%, proved to be the difference-maker, giving the Blazers the lead for good. Still, the second half was much closer than the first, as the margin hung around 3-4 points for most of the half. With the score 94-91, the Blazers shut the door with an 11-2 run.

Lamarcus Aldridge's recent tear seems to be winding down as he finished with 16 points and 7 rebounds. The Pistons were highly aware of his recent stretch as they kept him off the offensive glass the entire night and doubled him just about every time he had the ball in the post.

"It was a good victory for us," Head Coach Terry Stotts said. "Last night we let 3 players beat us, and we let the game get away. Tonight, we still struggled on defense, leaving too many guys open, not rotating on pick & rolls, but we found a way to win, and the fact that it was a win on the road is going to be huge for us."

The Blazers have one night to catch their breath, as they are set to take on Washington, in the midst of this 7-game road trip.

Interviews

[Media Room]

Thomas: "It's a process. Our performance on the road is well off from where it is when we're at home. We have to find a way to play with the same intensity and focus when we're not in white jerseys, cause you can't go on the road and go down 10 points every game.....

We got the win today, and hopefully it'll jump start us, but we just looked dead out there tonight, and we can't continue to do that."

Amare to Sacramento???

There are reports around the NBA that the Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks have been in trade discussions about Knick PF Amare Stoudemire. It is unknown what the exact structure of the deal is, but sources report that troubled King PF/C Demarcus Cousins is involved.

The Kings have made it no secret they are willing to part ways with their troubles First Round pick from 2 seasons ago, Demarcus Cousins, whom they've suspended multiple times.

It is unknown whether this is just a trade rumor or whether they've been in preliminary discussions, but it is clear both teams are trying to move the respective players.

Re: Rip City R!SE; The Donte' Thomas Journey

OMG guys! So I have the worst possible news.

I was watching a CPU v CPU game in my association while I was writing the post for my last association game, and as the game finished and it was saving, for some reason, I turned my game off because I was leaving to go get a quick grab of something to eat. Immediately I knew I made one of the worst mistakes in my life as I sat there for like 10 minutes. I have a backup save but forgot to update it recently as I was only 4 games into the season.

Right now I'm as shocked as can be. I wish I could continue this journey as I had just finished one month, and was ready to go around the league, and continue this adventure. I'm not sure what I will do, if I could put the saddest emoji face here, I most definitely would.

Sigh, I do enjoy the dynasties and sharing my association with you guys so I'm deciding whether ill just sim forward from the backup stage, and start a completely new journey with someone else.

I'll keep you guys updated but this is not the last you'll see me.

Re: Rip City R!SE; The Donte' Thomas Journey

Okay guys, so what I'm going to do is start a new dynasty with my Lakers, and player lock with Kobe Bryant. I was very reluctant to use the Lakers since Eaglerock already has that dynasty, but I couldn't find another team/player I wanted to use. I also will do games with Kyrie Irving, every now and then with recaps as I will do a mini-journey within the journey with Kyrie Irving, maybe 2-3 games a month. Big games or so. I will provide the link to the page in the next post once I get everything started...

Sigh... Rip City R!SE was truly something special.
