Well it’s official Sonic fans we lost our first game… To the bulls no less! I never did like them much, but I have to admit this was a tough one to lose. Our big return to the NBA foiled by those same Bulls that stopped us from getting another Finals ring… But let’s focus on the good side because this game had plenty of it!
The entire first half our Sonics were right in there with the bulls going tit for tat with them and shot for shot only down 3 going into the second quarter it seemed like we were truly back and going toe to toe with the best in the east. The second quarter if anything looked even better with the emergence of 1st round draft pick Thomas Robinson who showed up big in this game our leading scorer with 19 total points and chiping in with 5 boards as well, I really like the way this kid was looking out there tonight very polished on offense.
It was the third quarter when things started to go violently bad for our boys in green who were outscored by 12 points in the third quarter and out worked in just about every statistical and hustle category. Things didn’t get any better in the fourth and the bulls blew past our poor Sonics 81 to 99 but it was a good first game and if a few balls had bounced our way we might have managed the win, the game was not as much a blow out as the box score may indicate if not for cold nights from both Brandon Jennings and Tyreke Evans we would have a had a shot at least. Once these guys learn to play together the NBA better be on notice the Sonics are for real.

Game Notes: Both Brandon Jennings and Tyreke Evans shot under 40 percent from the floor tonight combining for just a 12 of 33 shooting night. The Sonics were out rebounded by 11 boards tonight getting punished especially on the offensive glass where T-Rob was just not strong enough to bang with Boozer and Noah.
How does it feel Sonic fans? We have our first win, and it was a great one! Going up against the Minnesota Timberwolves in their home and season opener coming off a tough loss to the bulls our boys came out riled up and ready to play.
The Supersonics were just better from the opening tip, playing a very balanced game and getting solid production out of all five starters who all managed double digit scoring and Jeff Green even managed a double double with 12 points and 11 boards.
The Sonics were actually down at the half but that never seemed to be a problem in this game, our boys kept at it and came out ready to knock out the home team after the half time break outscoring the home team 31 to 28 in the third quarter and at one point stretching the lead all the way to 12 points before the wolves rallied back behind Kevin Love to keep the game competitive.
In the end with the emergence of both Andray Blatche and Thomas Robinson in the same game, they were playing too physically and actually managed to out rebound the tenacious Kevin Love.
Nothing hurt the Wolves cause as much as poor shooting by their two star players did both Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio shot under 40 percent from the field and neither one of them managed a 3 point shot even though Kevin hoisted up 5 of them.
The main problems facing the Supersonics very early in this season though seems to be turnovers, our boys managed to give the ball back to the T-wolves an eye popping 19 times in this game, and that was a big factor in the score being as close as it was.

Game Notes:
Jeff Green manages the Supersonics first double double game since returning to Seattle at the beginning of the season. The Supersonics also managed to out rebound and out assist the Timberwolves despite a mess of turnovers. Brandon Jennings continues to shoot poorly from the field only managing to hit 4 of his 11 shots. Supersonics play the pacers in the last of this three game road trip, next up for the T-Wolves is the Toronto Raptors on Nov. 4
