Re: The Life of Colt Vega (CH2K8)

Morehead State Scouting Report and Projected Rotation
1. Nikola Stojakovic Sr. PG 59 OVR.
6'2 PG from Lithuania. No shooting ability, average ball handler, good passer.
2. Royce Gaye Jr. SG 62 OVR.
6'5 SG from Richardson, Texas. All around solid player with no weaknesses but no particular strong suit.
3. Leon Buchanan Jr. SF 66 OVR.
6'5 SF with a nice inside touch and ability to make highlight reel dunks. Average Defender at best.
4. Les Simmons Jr. PF 62 OVR.
6'7 PF from Queens. A good defensive rebounder with a very raw offensive game.
5. Kenneth Faried Fr. C 60 OVR.
6'8 PF who plays Center on a team with no other option. Good shot blocker and good near the rim. Very raw in ever other aspect of the game.
6. Jamyron Steward Sr. SG 61 OVR.
A 6'3 SG from Georgia who brings "experience" off the bench.
7. T.J Clark Fr. SG 61 OVR.
A 6'2 freshman from San Antonio, Texas. Has a nice shot for a freshman, but needs to work on his consistency.
8. Cecil Brown So. PG 58 OVR.
The 5'11 who is very quick and speedy. Needs to work on his fundamentals but should get plenty of playing time as the backup PG.
9. Dan Penick RSFr. PF 56 OVR.
A 6'8 240 LB beast from Louisville. Can rebound and do not much else, but has a slowly developing inside game.
10. John Lamb Fr. SG 59 OVR.
A 6'1 SG from Cedar Falls, IA who might have the tools to become a lights out 3 point shooter someday.
11. Maze Stallworth So. SG 60 OVR.
A 6'4 SG with a nose for offensive rebounds. He is probably the worst defender on the team which is why he is low in the rotation.
12. Andreas Coleman RSFr. PF 55 OVR.
A 6'7 PF who will likely ride the bench unless an injury or he shows great development in his defensive play.
Redshirted- Demonte Harper Fr. SG 58 OVR.
A 6'4 SG who walked on to the team and agreed to red-shirt for the year. Not much is known about him yet and we will have to see what Coach Vega will do with him next season.

Not since they played Louisville in the NCAA Tourney in Dayton a few years back; the year before they actually beat them.
My mom was friends with Donnie Tyndall, and he gave us some free tickets. We sat next to Kenneth Faried's family. Lol.

Re: The Life of Colt Vega (CH2K8)

Morehead St. (0-0) at Houston (0-0)
Bang! Morehead State started the game of on a 12-0 run. However, SF Leon Buchanon who had 8 of the 12 points twisted his ankle and had to miss the rest of the game. No one coul pick up his slack and the Eagles lead diminished to two points with 5 minutes left in half. Then the Eagles went on a mini run to end the half leading 37-26. The 2nd half was all Royce Gaye's who scored 14 points in the second half. Although Morehead State was outscored in the Second Half, they were able to hold on and pull off the upset, winning
62-55.

Notable Performers

Morehead St.
Gaye: 20 points 8-9 FT
Faried: 5 points, 16 rebounds
Lamb: 3 points 1-9 FG 1-7 3PT

Houston
Dowell: 11 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals
McKiver: 4 points 1-14 FG
Smith: 5 points, 6 assists, 2 steals

Re: The Life of Colt Vega (CH2K8)

Morehead St. (1-0) at 25. Maryland (0-0) in the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic C

As you may have guessed, this was a game that the Eagles were not supposed to have a chance at winning. And most people may have been a little surprised at the end of the first half because Maryland was only winning by 5. The 2nd half was a much different story however. Maryland came out of the gates firing on all cylinders and Morehead St. could not get anything going. Senior SG Jamyron Steward said "The 1st half was great, but we could not keep our composure in the 2nd and as a result we were outscored 34-19. " The final score ended up being 70-50. The team will play the next game of the tournament against Tulsa on Monday November 12th.

Notable Performers

Morehead St.
Faried: 13 Pts 5 Reb 5Stl
Buchanan: 8 Pts 6 Reb

Maryland
Greivis Vasquez: 12 Pts 6 Ast
J. Gist: 11 Pts 7 Reb
B. Osby: 17 Pts 8 Reb
