Bobcat Pride: Building a Winner

OVERVIEW

This is an NBA 2K13 Association. I will be using the Rosters, Sliders (slight variations), and Draft Classes made by VCTRB and his group. Much appreciation to them for all their hard work.

This Association will be played and brought to you as follows.
  • I try to make things as realistic as possible
  • I play 1 game per calender week, and sim the rest, this creates a good balance between team building and playing well with my players.
  • I will post an update after every game I play, which will include a video wrapup of the game I played, box scores of all simmed games and a press conference.
  • I allow myself 1 trade every preseason, and 1 trade every trade deadline, so a max of 2 trades per year.
  • You guys will serve as my trade committee, making sure my trades are fair

If you guys would like to see anything specific please post and let me know, im open to any ideas that would make this better.

Re: Bobcat Pride: Building a Winner

Welcome to Charlotte. It is a brand new year, and the motto throughout our organization this year is simply "Change". Since basketball was brought back to this great city we have not been competitive, so we plan to CHANGE that moving forward. We have a new GM and a new direction that we are very excited about. We are committed to bringing a championship to this city.

PRESEASON

I would like to take this time to introduce you guys to our organization, and kind of show you the blueprint we are working towards.

There is your first look at my Bobcats. For my preseason trade I will be looking for a SG or C. Open to trading any of my PFs, Cs, and Sgs away to make it happen.

Re: Bobcat Pride: Building a Winner

Word is out that the Bobcats are trying to make a move before the season begins. They have sent out feelers to all teams. The players receiving interest are listed below.

SG Ben Gordon (1 year, 12.4M)
SG Gerlad Henderson (1 year, 3.1M)
SF Reggie Williams (1 year, 2.6M)
PF Josh McRoberts (1 year, 3.13M)
C Byron Mullins (1 year, 2.25M)
C Desagana Diop (1 year, 7.4M)

It looks like the Cats are willing to part with expiring contracts to get another piece. But they are not willing to part with any 1st round picks.

Sources say these are the trades that have come the closest to getting done.

Out of those, the first trade is the best. Boston gets some youth and some scoring ability with Henderson and a potential future starter in Mullens. Giving up the first round pick hurts but it's likely low anyway, depending on Boston and it's health. May need to make that a conditional first round pick, top 14 protected for this year, just so Boston covers their bases.

Re: Bobcat Pride: Building a Winner

I agree with trekfan that the 1st trade is the better one, it also allows you to go for a FA of your choice for the 5 or through the draft, rather than Asik's contract, I also agree that you should "protect" the Boston pick, maybe not top-14 but say top-5/or 7.
Also other than that it looks great, keep it up.

Re: Bobcat Pride: Building a Winner

hmm yeah I guess it makes sense to make the pick lottery protected. I could do that. That is the trade I am leaning towards. Love Lee of the bench as a do it all guy. Wanted a big guy but there's not much out there available, gonna have to wait for FA/Draft.
