Rookie Watch
Tony Snell wasn't shy in his 14 minutes. He jacked up 10 shots, 4 from down town and connect on half of them, but only 1 three. He scored 12 points and had 3 rebounds, while playing some good defense.

Tim Hardaway Jr was named the started for the Knicks right after being drafted, and he didn't shy from the oppurtunity. In 28 minutes he scored 13 points on 5-14 shooting and had 6 rebounds. His shot selection was a little worry some but that is expected with rookies.

Player of the game
Jeff Green had a great first game in what many think will be his break out season. Green scored 32 points on 22 shots while netting 11 rebounds and 5 assists. He showed improvements in his shooting stroke going 3-4 from down town, 2 of those coming late in the game.

Defensive player of the game
This goes to everyone who guarded Melo. In 36 minutes Melo had 18 points on a TERRIBLE 8 for 30 shooting performance where 2 of those makes came on wide open fast break dunks. No doubling was a smart idea by coach Doc Rivers, who said that doubling Melo is what allows the rest of the guys to get going.

Player to watch
Rajon Rondo had 15 assists to go along with 13 points tonight. It really is time for him to step up his game now that Pierce and KG are retired. He needs to show he can be a consistent 3rd option on offense, or the Celtics won't get far

Celtics beat Raptors 91-86 for 2nd straight win to start the season
Cousins huge with 24 points on 10-11 shooting

Rookie Watch
Tony Snell struggled again, going 1-4 for 3 points but he did grab 4 rebounds. He's shown flashes of being a good defender but has struggle to know where to be. He's going to need some work, but has flashed his talent a time or two.

Lorenzo Brown scored 6 points on 2-3 shooting. His defense was a little suspect, but he showed he knew how to run an offense while he was on the court.

Player of the game
Demarcus Cousins offense was lights out tonight. 10-11 from the field, and 4-4 from the line Cousins scored 24 points in 29 minutes. But, he only grabbed 5 rebounds which is not something the Celtics expect him to do so poorly with.

Defensive player of the game
Rajon Rondo just owns Kyle Lowry. He held him to 10 points in 33 minutes, on 43% shooting and forced him to have 7 turnovers. Lowry could barely dribble the ball without Rondo trying to poke a hand at it. If Rondo keeps this defensive intensity up, anything is possible!

Player to watch
Jared Sullinger snuck in a 15-11 double double with 4 steals tonight. He showed great poise down on the block and Toronto had nothing to stop him with. Look for the C's to take advantage of his bulk against suspect defenders in the future
