NBA 2K13: The Scorching Suns

Hi all, this is my first time doing a dynasty association. I might make mistakes here and there, but I will try my best to improve on them.

Association Settings:
30-Team Control
Team: Phoenix Suns
Roster: Med's Ultimate Roster
Sliders: Modified mkharsh33 sliders
Draft Class: @derito NBA 2K13 Draft Class
Player Roles: Off
Quarter/Sim Length: 11min/12min

I will attempt to rebuild the entire Phoenix Suns from scratch (retaining only a few players or trade all players). I will sim the entire 2012-13 season (keeping CPU trades off as well). From the 2013-14 season onwards, I will play 29 games, playing against each team once. Stay Tuned!

Goran Dragic proved to be the leader for the Suns. He averaged a NBA-high 38.2mpg and 10.1apg, while providing 16.5ppg and 5.5rpg. He proved to be a good defender, getting 2.1spg. However, he was the lone bright player for the Suns. Shannon Brown and Luis Scola played well this season, but the Suns need more contributors to be a playoff contender. Still, the Suns are in a midst of rebuilding. Goran Dragic will most likely return for next year, while the others are hard to say so.

Re: NBA 2K13: The Scorching Suns

NBA PLAYOFFS - EASTERN CONFERENCE ROUND 1

Miami Heat (1) VS Brooklyn Nets (8)
VS

Heat burns the Nets, sweeping them in 4 games.

Lebron James showed his dominance over the Nets

A .500 team facing off the #1 seed in the East? Simple, a sweep. That was what happened. The Nets could not handle the Heat at all, losing by an average margin of 16.5. 3 time NBA MVP Lebron James led the way for the Heat, both offensively and defensively. Deron Williams and Brook Lopez tried their best to prevent a sweep, but the Heat is just too hot.

Lebron James - 29.0ppg/8.8rpg/4.7apg/2.8spg
Dwyane Wade - 25.8ppg/5.7rpg/5.5apg/1.7spg
Brook Lopez - 23.5ppg/4.5rpg/7.5rpg
Deron Williams - 18.8ppg/9.5apg

Notes: Chris Bosh missed the entire series due to injury...Mario Chalmers went down in Game 3 with a plantar fasciitis...Dwyane Wade broke his finger in Game 4, out for 2-4 weeks

-----

New York Knicks (2) VS Cleveland Cavaliers (7)
VS

Young Cavaliers gets defeated by the Knicks in 5 games

Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks send the Cavaliers home defeating them 4-1

For the first time since the King James era, 2nd year PG Kyrie Irving led the Cavaliers back to the playoffs. However, the celebration was shortlived, as the Knicks sent them packing after 5 games. Still, managing a win over the 2nd seeded team was an impressive feat for the young Cavaliers. Expect them to have a breakout season in the near future.

Carmelo Anthony - 32.6ppg/8.0rpg/4.4apg
Raymond Felton - 25.4ppg/5.4rpg/8.0apg
Kyrie Irving - 25ppg/5rpg/9apg
Dion Waiters - 21.4ppg/5rpg/3apg

-----

Chicago Bulls (3) VS Milwaukee Bucks (6)
VS

Bulls too strong for the Bucks, sweeps them

Derrick Rose leads his Bulls in a sweep

This was yet another sweep. The Bulls' defense were too strong for the Bucks, as they managed to get past the century mark only once, and that was only 101 points. The Bulls certainly have to be glad that Rose did not tore his ACL again like last year. While Monta Ellis was big for the Bucks, his backcourt partner Brandon Jennings did not. Rose kept Jennings in check the whole series, causing him to shoot only .333% from the field and averaging 17.0pts and 4TOs.

Derrick Rose - 22.7ppg/5.3rpg/3.8apg
Carlos Boozer - 17.7ppg/10.5rpg
Monta Ellis - 26ppg/5.5rpg/3spg
Brandon Jennings - 17.0ppg/5.7rpg/7.2apg

Notes: Joakim Noah is out with a torn MCL and will miss the entire playoffs...Bucks starting PF Ersan Ilyasova is injured with a sprained wrist and did not play in the series

-----

Philadelphia 76ers VS Indiana Pacers
VS

Pacers fall to 76ers in 6

Jrue Holdiay was a vital player in closing out the Pacers

Though the Pacers tried their best against the 76ers they ultimately failed. The Jrue Holiday and Andrew Bynum combo was too much for the Pacers. To add insult to injury, Paul George came down with an injury in Game 3. George Hill failed to guard Holiday in the entire series, allowing Holiday to go off on him, which led to the Pacers' loss.

Jrue Holiday - 23.2ppg/7rpg/7.7apg/1.7spg
Andrew Bynum - 15.5ppg/11.2rpg/2.0bpg
Danny Granger - 19.2ppg/5.8rpg/2.3spg
David West - 17.7ppg/6.7rpg

Notes: 76ers starting PF Thaddeus Young is injured with a strained hamstring, missed the entire series...Paul George came down with a sore back in Game 3, listed as day-to-day but did not return to the series...Pacers backup PG D.J. Augustin sprained his finger in Game 6

NBA PLAYOFFS - WESTERN CONFERENCE ROUND 1

Los Angeles Clippers (1) VS Memphis Grizzlies (8)
VS

Clippers advance, sweeping Grizzlies 4-0

Blake Griffin comes up big for the Clippers to sweep Grizzlies
7
The Grizzlies ranked #4 in the regular season in fewest points allowed to opponents. However, the Grizzlies just couldn't stop the overpowering offense from the Clippers, led by Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. 'Lob City' was just too strong for the Grizzlies, with them losing by an average margin of 21pts. Zach Randolph couldn't handle Griffin at all, allowing him to shoot an inhuman .725%. However, Randolph isn't entirely at fault, as his defensive frontcourt partner Marc Gasol missed the entire series due to an injury. Things might have been different had the Grizzlies stayed healthy.

Blake Griffin - 24.5ppg/9.3rpg/.725 FG%
Chris Paul - 17.7ppg/4.5rpg/7.5apg
Zach Randolph - 17ppg/11rpg
Mike Conley - 15.2ppg/7apg/2.3spg
Notes: C Marc Gasol did not play in the entire series due to an injury

Los Angeles Lakers (2) VS San Antonio Spurs (7)
VS

Vintage Kobe lifts Lakers above Spurs in 6 games, winning the series 4-2

The seemingly ageless Kobe Bryant led the way for the Lakers

Kobe Bryant, despite being 34, played like his younger self, helping the Lakers advance to the next round following a 4-2 series victory over the Spurs. His amazing performances included a 52pt outburst on 16-28 shooting in Game 2. It wasn't just Kobe being ageless. Tim Duncan, at 37 years old, like Kobe, appeared like his former younger self, averaging a double-double and blocking shots that come its way. Unfortunately for him, Kobe and the Lakers ultimately won over the older Spurs.

Kobe Bryant - 32.3ppg/7.5rpg/3.3spg
Pau Gasol - 16.2ppg/8.3rpg
Tim Duncan - 21.7ppg/10.8rpg/1.8bpg
Tony Parker - 18.2ppg/6.7apg

Notes: Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard is out with a torn MCL and will miss the entire playoffs...Antawn Jamison is out for the entire playoffs with a broken jaw suffered in Game 2

-----

Oklahoma City Thunder (3) VS Sacramento Kings (6)
VS

Thunder zaps the Kings in 5 games, winning 4-1

Kevin Durant was in his usual dominant form against the Kings

The Sacramento Kings surprised everyone by making the playoffs this year, after missing it for several years. However, expectations were low and many predicted that the Kings would get swept. Thankfully, they didn't, and even managed a win over the Thunder. However, the explosive duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook did not make things easy for the Kings. If the Kings continue to improve, they can certainly make some noise in playoffs in the near future.

Kevin Durant - 27.2ppg/10rpg/6apg/2.2spg
Russell Westbrook - 24.2ppg/5.2rpg/7.4apg/1.8spg
Demarcus Cousins - 17.6ppg/12rpg
Tyreke Evans - 14ppg/5.4rpg/5.4apg

Notes: SAC backup PG Isaiah Thomas suffered a sprained foot in Game 2...Kevin Martin suffered back spasms after Game 3

-----

Houston Rockets (4) VS Denver Nuggets (5)
VS

Rockets prevail after 7 tough games over the Nuggets

James Harden helped the Rockets survive the grueling 7-games series against the Nuggets

This was a match-up fans loved to see, a match-up between two of the highest scoring teams in the NBA. The Rockets were ranked #7 in the NBA in PPG with the Nuggets behind them by 0.2pts in #8. The competitiveness of this series was shown as this series required 7 games to decide a winner. Ultimately, it was the Rockets who prevailed. Though 5 players averaged double digit points for the Nuggets, James Harden and rising star Chandler Parsons proved to be too much for the Nuggets to handle, as the Rockets won Game 7 to advance to the second round.

James Harden - 26.6ppg/5.6rpg/4.7apg/2.4spg
Chandler Parsons - 21.1ppg/5.4rpg
Ty Lawson - 16.3ppg/9.1apg
Kenneth Faried - 14.3ppg/9.4rpg

Rockets players Francisco Garcia and Patrick Beverely are out with a strained hamstring and strained groin respectively...

NBA PLAYOFFS - EASTERN CONFERENCE SEMI-FINALS

Miami Heat (1) VS Philadelphia 76ers (4)

Lebron James takes charge, help Heat eliminate 76ers 4-1

The 76ers was no match for James and the Heat, being defeated in 5 games. Though the Heat was without star Dwyane Wade and starting PG Mario Chalmers, Lebron James showed why he was an MVP and led the way for the Heat. Ray Allen, who started in place for the injured Wade, stepped up his game and knocked down 3s when it mattered most. Jrue Holiday and the 76ers just cannot keep up with the Heat.

Lebron James - 31.2ppg/7.4rpg/4.8apg/2spg/.567 FG%
Chris Bosh - 18.4ppg/5.8rpg
Jrue Holiday - 17.8ppg/4.2apg
Andrew Bynum - 11.8ppg/9.6rpg

Notes: PF Thaddeus Young was cleared to play from Game 4 onwards...Dwyane Wade and Mario Chalmers both missed the entire series due to injury

Offense wins as Knicks advance, defeating Bulls 4-2

Carmelo Anthony's scoring helps the Knicks to eliminate Bulls

The Knicks were #1 in team PPG in the regular season while the Bulls were #3 in opponent PPG. So, naturally, this was a battle between offense and defense. However, the common saying of 'Defense wins championships' did not apply here, as it was offense who won. Though Derrick Rose tried to save his team, the Knicks were too much to handle. Without their best defensive player, Joakim Noah, the Bulls could not stop penetration from the likes of J.R. Smith and Carmelo Anthony, which resulted in the Bulls' loss.

Carmelo Anthony - 25.3ppg/6.8rpg
J.R. Smith - 17.2ppg/6.5rpg
Derrick Rose - 20ppg/5.8rpg/5apg
Carlos Boozer - 15.2ppg/9.8rpg

Notes: Taj Gibson played in Game 6 despite suffering from a broken finger suffered in Game 5...Joakim Noah, with a torn MCL, missed the entire playoffs...Amare Stoudamire will miss the entire playoffs with a torn MCL
