WOW! Charlie V is having a tough time! You have to wonder if a potential concussion caused the accident. All of this turmoil may distract the Pistons on the court where they have already struggled so far this season. While Charlie V is no lights out shooter, the Pistons will miss his production while he is out. Hopefully he will recover, and be back on the court! If it is with Detroit, or someone else.

BREAKING NEWS: Charlie Villanueva dies from injures sustained in car accident

A big loss for sports. He may not have been well known, but the entire NBA is mourning after this tragic loss. After Sunday Night's loss to the New York Knicks, Charlie V got into a fatal fight with Jimmer Fredette, the team's starting point guard. When Fredette pushed Villanueva into Kentavious Caldwell-Pope's locker, the autopsy revealed that Villanueva suffered a concussion. Then, while driving to a friend's house in Toledo, Villanueva apparently blacked out, which caused him to drive into a guard rail, knocking him into a coma. Charlie V did not wake up, and he was pronounced dead at 6:00 AM on November 4th, 2014. This is the Pistons' statement released a few minutes ago:

"We are deeply saddened for the Villanueva family, and for our players as well. Charlie was a great man, the entire NBA knows this, and he will be missed greatly. To honor him, we will wear #31 patches on our jerseys for the rest of the year, and we will retire that number."

Villanueva was 30.
