Tennessee State, at 1-6 before the game, was hungry for a win, but the Panthers wouldn't give it to them. A 3 point lead at halftime for the Tigers quickly changed into an Eastern Illinois lead, as they went on to win just by 4.

Grahoben: "Our outside shooting was pretty terrible (6-22 for 3), but we did a good job of getting it inside. Tennessee State played really hard out there, but we were able to win on their own court."

Eastern Illinois built up a large lead heading into halftime, but turnovers and missed shots caused their lead to slip, and soon, they were behind. Before any comeback could be made, the game ended, giving the Panthers a very upsetting loss.

Grahoben: "After the first half we got way too comfortable, and we started turning the ball over. Before we knew it we were losing, and it was too late to do anything. You just can't afford to lose games like this."

Grahoben: "Our offense wasn't good at all, but we were luckily able to play fantastic defense to win the game. Allowing only 9 points in a half is remarkable, and it shows how hard we have worked on defense this year."
