Re: Reader Interactive MyGM 2014 season and beyond!

Nick young and brooks options were picked up by player/team

our FA are jordan hill, jordan farmar, jodie meeks, wes jeohnson, do we want to offer them any contracts?

---its time for the draft, we only have brooks, young, sacre on the roster (99.99% kobe returns)

what positions do we go after in the draft, and any specific guys you want?

assistant gm braedang33 says to go after the best non SG, preferably pg and sf's....agree or disagree? draft in about 10-20 min

I'd say Bring back Johnson Hill and Farmar if you can get them for reasonable contracts and they are willing to play limited minutes.

Re: Reader Interactive MyGM 2014 season and beyond!

The lakers come out of the 2014 nba draft with the following players:

SF/PF 6'10 London Forrest 76 Overall---not a shooter, pass first , finish at the rim rebounder

PG/SG 6'5 Mark Davis 74 Overall--- excellent mid range game, defender, playmaker

PF/C 6'10 Kelvin Trufant-Hayes 67 Overall--- defender, rebounder, high upside, lacks offense

-----top free agents----

Spoiler

Im thinking go after Carmelo/Lebron as option 1, with interest in brining in enes kanter, jodie meeks, rodney stucky, luol deng, , wes johnson, cj miles, alec burks...whats your thoughts?

kobe resigned for 1 year $13M

I bolded the guys I think are intruiguing. I don't think its necessary to sign another superstar. Build around Kobe, putting a bunch of above average starter/borderline all star but non superstars around him who are unselfish and can do the little things and aren't gonna need a lot of touches around Kobe would be for the best. Luol Deng to me is a great fit next to him. 'Melo and Lebron need the ball in their hands to much and would butt heads with Kobe. Isaiah gives you a quick point guard who can be a secondary ball handler while you run the offense through Kobe. Bogut is a quality defensive big who you can rely on to guard the rim and work hard on the boards. Johnson is a solid rotational wing player and Reggie Jackson would be a good third guard off the bench behind thomas and Kobe. So would Chalmers. Burks, Kanter, and Crowder are assets that are young and could develop or be used as trade bait. Meeks is another rotational guy and Evan Turner is a good consolation prize if you can't get Deng.

Ideal post FA lineup:

PG: Thomas, Jackson, Mark Davis(R)
SG: Kobe, Burks
SF: Deng, Johnson, Crowder
PF: Forrest(R), Trufant-Hayes(R)
C: Bogut, Kanter

Re: Reader Interactive MyGM 2014 season and beyond!

played first game of the season, it was really fun using this team. I can tell about 80% of the scoring will come from the perimiter guys tho lol
