Haha I don't know about running the thread I just like to talk NBA lol. Could do it all day.

I'm not sold on the uniform editor in game. I've spent countless hours trying ideas but they forever look like cr@p even trying to recreate current jerseys. It must be something in the rendering on the game but I really do like how your idea is looking. The sonics logo is fantastic. Look forward to seeing the finished product

Much thanks, fellas! Question for the direction I should take with the uniforms (I've had coffee and been thinking about these all day, so I'm ON IT for tonight).

Back in the early 70s, the Sonics actually wore home golds and away greens for their unis.

^That really old article confirms it. Being that it's their 50th, I'm wondering if I should try something like that. Going for home golds would be a direct shot at the Lakers (whom, let's admit, we're all enjoying being brought down a bit). I don't mind that, from a storyline perspective (Max's actions towards Bennett and Bennett's actions towards Max will make the NBA a much more interesting place for the owners), but I'm not sure.

What I'd like to do is give the Sonics a home green jersey or a home white jersey with a good bit of green color.

If I do the former, then I'm left wondering what to do with the away unis (the Sonics primary colors of Green, Gold, White don't allow for much -- an away white isn't done in the NBA and an away gold, though done by some teams, can't be worn against the Lakers -- that would clash). I could dip back into the mid 90s Sonics colors (with that dark red of theirs) as an away jersey, but many Sonics fans hate those uniforms. Updating them to make them look good would be a challenge, but the Cavs mix/match color schemes with their old (and mostly not good) unis, so it's not unheard of.

If I do the latter, I'm thinking an arch look makes a return ...



But I want to keep that cursive font (cause it's CLASSY) for the home unis. Might look into a stripe across as well. I'll fiddle with it and see what I can come up with, but thoughts would be appreciated.

I love this style for sure. Like a crazy amount haha. As far as the away colours I'm really not sure the only thing I'm thinking is the "generic" black but it would accentuate the colours you highlighted it with. Considering torontos black/gold Alt this year as much as I don't like the design the gold seems to take centre stage. Either that or perhaps a gray for the same reasons as black but it's not quite as boring as black. I don't think it's going to be particularly easy finding a combination that won't clash with someone but at least they will have other jerseys available to avoid it for a game at a time

^Well, if I seemed to have hit upon a winner with my first go around, we'll stick with the Cursive Sonics (and bolts); it's beginning to grow on me as well. I'll work on touching up things with the home uni and then we'll look at the away green.

As much as I would like to have a home green, the idea of a grey/black away just seems wrong. Going home green with an away dark red (or "wine" as they called it then) is an intriguing one, so I'll try that after we get the initial winners up and ready to go. That's actually a jersey I would happily go and buy. I like it more every time I see it. May have to incorporate it into my own my league whenever I finally get that started.

Do you happen to know if you can go back to the original designs once you've started re branding? That's the only thing that keeps me from wanting to get too deep into it. I know that we are limited to only being able to relocate 3 teams unfortunately before it asks you to overwrite a previous choice.

^No way to go back to the original designs. The home/away jerseys are replaced by whatever you come up with and the game doesn't save any of the previous iterations. If you do decide to rebrand a team with a good home/away jersey and no good throwbacks, be careful -- team's like the Cavs/Lakers/Kings/Clippers have plenty of good throwbacks (arguably better than their current ones) that rebranding them is low-risk. Other team's, not so much.

Oh you can keep the throwbacks that I didn't know I hadn't actually tried yet but very useful information. Thanks trek!
