Kupchak FIRED!

Just a few days before the beginning of the regular season the Los Angeles Lakers announced the dismissal of Mitch Kupchak.

According to the rumours from Lakers' front-office the cause would be the dissatisfaction by the presidency concerning the roster assembled in what could be Kobe's last season.

Kupchak leaves the Lakers after 15 years (he was hired as GM in the '00-'01 season

And BOOM goes the dynamite. Man, Kupchak has been around for a LONG time ... wonder where the Lakers will go.

An unknown italian as new GM?

The news of the dismissal of Kupchak, one of the most prominent GM's in the NBA has baffled a lot, but could shock even more the rumour that the Lakers would be in contact with a young italian for the GM role.

Sources says that Kobe sponsored the hiring of Gensi because he met him during one of his frequent trips to Italy and has particularly enjoyed his organizational skills.

Gensi, called "The Professor" for his calm and pragmatism, is expected to sign an annual contract in which the president wants to evaluate his work. The Lakers want to return big so fast, and it could be a tough nut to crack...

For better or worse Kupchak was a main piece of the Lakers' recent history. His replacing will not be easy.

Difficult to say the least. Those owner goals will be tough, no doubt.

I decided to switch to MyLeague because i think it's better to run a 29 games season playing all the games.

The goal is the same (reaching the playoffs) but I have more flexibility in choices and I can change on the way the Salary Cap settings and, if necessary, block any trade particularly disadvantageous for a team

Same here, as I'm running a 58 (play each team twice home and away). Played 82 on 2k15 in MyGM, way too much.

However -- correct me if I'm wrong -- in MyLeague, you miss the advantage of convincing your own free agents who want to test FA/refuse to sign to stay with your franchise.

In MyGM, you can earn those badges and use them.

In MyLeague, if a guy wants to test FA or refuse to sign, you've lost him for good after the current season.

As far as I'm aware, this is true. In MyLeague, you don't convince anyone of anything, they make their choices and go forth. Now, you can resign them if they hit FA (as long as they don't hate you) but if they do, you lose them ... unless you trade for them from the team you lost them too.
