"Real" update will come after I play a game today, but in the meantime, we've played four more, losing three. Here are box scores from all four (check out AI's performance against the Rockets!) and some screengrabs from the Lakers game.

Answering The Call

Scott, Bell Step Up For Sixers in Win Over Knicks

NEW YORK-- Some nights, players don't have their best games. Such was the case with Allen Iverson tonight. Iverson did put in 24 points (10 coming in the 4th quarter), adding 4 assists and 3 boards, but it was the role players who had to step up, and they did just that. Player of the game honors went to Dennis Scott who scored 18 points and added 9 boards and 3 blocks for the Sixers as they upended the New York Knicks in a low scoring affair, 74-67.

The Sixers certainly weren't at their best tonight, turning the ball over 16 times, making their total 35 turnovers in a two game span, but they certainly made up for it between the scoring efforts of Scott and Raja Bell, who came off the bench for 9 minutes, scoring 10 points, including a pair of key three pointers in the third quarter to give the Sixers their first lead since the beginning of the second. From that point on, the Sixers grabbed the game by the horns and rolled to the victory in a stellar defensive showing that saw the Knicks shoot just 36 percent from the field. "I'd say we got away with one tonight, given the turnover numbers, but with the work we did on the defensive side of the ball, making them work for shots and owning the defensive glass, I'll go ahead and say we deserve this one," Coach Larry Brown said post-game, "But if we continue turning the ball over at this clip, it's going to be a long season."

The Sixers are back in action in three days' time against the Denver Nuggets.

Snow Gone
Sixers deal Eric Snow to Bulls for BJ Armstrong, Parts

The Sixers have sent Eric Snow, Tyrone Hill and John Brown to the Bulls for BJ Armstrong, Jamaal Franklin and Scott Williams. "We like this move a lot," said GM mb625, "It's a slight step back in the short term, but we bring in a point guard who fits our system much better than Eric did. BJ can stretch the floor at the 1 and that's what we need. Jamaal adds another deep threat off the bench and opens the possibility of trading Raja in the future. Scott is a skilled big who, at 23, has tons of potential to be a nice contributor for us. We're very excited to bring these guys in, but at the same time, it's awfully difficult to see Eric, Tyrone and John leaving. They were very important assets to this team and I hated to part ways with them, but this is a very exciting move that will hopefully lead to success.
