Major Minnesota Timberwolves Ownership Shakeup

Following another unfortunately disappointing season the Minnesota Timberwolves enter the 2016 offseason coming off of a 29-53 record. Once again the Timberwolves couldn't even manage to crack a .500 record. However, prior to entering the 2016 offseason Timberwolves' majority owner, Glen Taylor, has decided to sell his stock in the team to new majority owner, RJ.

Following RJ's initial press conference as the team's new majority owner, he made it plain and simply that his goal this offseason is to put together a team that is capable of being a .500 or better team in the 2016-17 season and perhaps even a 7th or 8th seed in the deep Western Conference. Where or it he manages to do so is yet to be seen, but, the 2016 NBA Offseason is now officially under way.

The NBA announces three Hall of Fame inductees for the 2016 Class. The class is Allen Iverson, Yao Ming, and Shaquile O'Neal.

League Meetings

As the owner majority owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves, RJ, will get to have his say at the NBA League Meetings.

Rule Change Proposals and My Responses

1)Draft Lottery: The worst team will have reduced odds of obtaining a top 3 pick. My response was to agree with this.

2)Only 10 players from each conference will be named to the All-Star team. My response was to agree with this.

3)Draft Lottery: The top 11 picks are done through the lotto; remaining picks are determined by team record. My response was to disagree with this.

4)Opposing teams will enter the Bonus after 4 teams fouls have been committed in an Overtime period. My response was don't care.

5)Increase the Shot Clock to 45 seconds. My response was to disagree with this.

4)Opposing teams will enter the Bonus after 4 team fouls have been committed in an Overtime period. Yes 6, No 24, Results Rejected

5)Increase the Shot Clock to 45 seconds. Yes 10, No 20, Results Rejected

So rule wise the NBA will remain the same for at least one more season. Plus good news for the 76ers is that their chance at obtaining a top 3 don't take a hit since the first rule change proposal didn't get passed.

Your Minnesota Timberwolves have won the luck of the draw and ended up with the 1st overall pick the 2016 NBA Draft. The 76ers despite missing out on the 1st overall pick yet again manage to end up with two top five picks, the 3rd overall and 4th overall picks in the 2016 NBA Draft.
