SUMMER-TIME TRADES



The Kings traded Jusuf Nurkic to the Bulls for Hamidou Diallo

Sacremento - The Kings have a plethora of big men and needed some help on the wing. Diallo will get a chance to see some playing time and the Kings are hoping that he can eventually be a player for them.

Chicago - The Bulls had James Wiseman fall into their laps with the 8th pick. He's 7'0 tall but at only 216 pounds it remains to be seen if he can play Center full time in the NBA. Nurkic is a stop-gap to see if Wiseman can cut it or if he needs to see more time at PF.



Seattle trades Marcin Gortat to Toronto for a '21 2nd Round Pick

Seattle - The Sonics were loaded at center and traded way their oldest, most expensive one for a 2nd round pick

Toronto - Gortat fills a need for a backup center for the Raptors.



Washinton trades Otto Porter to Portland for James Johnson, DeWayne Dedmond and a 21 2nd Round pick

Washinton - Washinton is still reeling from Dragic's terrible deal. They're strapped for cash and need players so dealing Porter in a 1 for 2 deal and getting decent (but older) players with smaller contracts is probably a win over them. If anything saves them some luxury tax penalties.

Portland - The Blazers have been looking for a SF who could complement their guards for a few seasons and Porter seems to fit the bill. Will Porter be the final piece to get Portland over the hump 0ut West?



Lousivlle Trades Elfrid Payton to Vancouver for Jeremy Lamb and a '23 2nd Round pick

Louisville - Payton actually played well for the Racers in the first season. However, he became expendable when the team signed Trey Burke and drafted Cole Anthony.

Vancouver- The Huskies drafted Derrick Rose in the Expansion Draft but he's not someone you can really depend on all season long. Payton will compete with him for the starting job.



Detriot trades T.J. Warren for Dennis Schroder, and will swap 2nd Round picks with Atlanta if they have a better pick

Detriot - Detriot didn't want to go into another season with Pat Beverley as their starting PG so they made this move for Schroder who is younger and should be a decent upgrade over Beverley.

Atlanta - Schroder had worn out his welcome in Atlanta and P.J. Dozier and Alex Caruso's play last season made Schroder expendable.



Clevland, New York, and Miami complete a three-team deal that sends Willy Hernangomez, T.J. McConnell, Kelly Olynyk, Justice Winslow and a 22 2nd Round pick to Cleveland, Kevin Love and Ante Zizic to New York, and Isaiah Thomas to Miami

Cleveland - Cleveland is still trying to overcome the loss of LeBron James. They thought that they could do that with Love and IT leading the team but they missed the playoffs last season. At this point, they're looking to sort of blow it up but they're mostly looking to save money and get a fresh start.

New York - The rich get even richer as the NBA Champions trade of some decent pieces for Kevin Love. They lose some depth but they add another star to an already loaded team.

Miami - Miami has been looking for a star since Dwyane Wade left and they're still trying this move to bring in IT. IT can still light it up on the offensive end and that's something that the Heat desperately need. Losing Winslow wasn't too big for them as Justin Jackson has outplayed him the last two seasons.
