2021 All star selection

The all star list has been confirmed and two Washington Wizards got an invitation.

Bradley Beal, getting his 3rd All Star selection, will start for Team Giannis.

Russel Westbrook, gettings his tenth All Star selection, will serve as a reserve for Team Lebron.

Wizkids surprisingly upset Mavs

Washington finally with an empty injury list hosting Mavericks which are at the top of the West conference. A surprise for Washington with a strengthen lineup with Wagner starting at #4 instead of Hachimura while Capela plays at #5... If Doncic cannot be stopped Wizards have a plan to contain Porzingis.

Surprisingly Washington had the advantage in that game. A game which may be the blueprint for success and show why Capela trade might have been what the doctor ordered. Washington totally dominating on rebounds which generated 19 second chance points (vs 4 for Dallas). Porzingis limited to 6 points...

Finally Washington made the difference in 3rd quarter and managed to keep a comfortable lead thanks to a good collective game.

Could Wizards become real ?

Wizards defeat Bulls

Washington hosting Chicago. Bulls are struggling this season near the bottom of the East conference and without Porter, Gafford, White and Markkanen while Wizards have all their players back healthy at the start of the game.

Washington did not looked so good especially in first half. Messing up a lot of possessions early in the game, it looked like they underestimated Chicago. Bulls were really good at defending the rim and Wizards struggled to finish.

But finally Wqashington started to adjust better in second quarter and the end score does not give justice to the Bulls who gave a solid fight even if they collapsed a bit in second half.

Without really convincing Washingtoin get the expected W.

Westbrook likely out until playoffs

Sad news for all Wizards fan, Russel Westbrook suffered a pulled left calf muscle following the game versus Knicks at Madison square garden.
Wizards defeated Knicks 146 to 133 but the cost of that win could be huge with Westbrook expected to miss a minimum of 6 weeks and may not be able to play before the playoffs.

Headed into the All star break the win at New York was the 4th in a row for Washington. This leaves Wizards with Allen or Neto to play at point with eventually Bonga serving as depth.

Standing at the 6th seed of the Eastern conference, will Wizzkids will be able to keep their playoff season run alive with one of its two All Star sidelined until the end of the regular season ?

Wizards obliterate Bucks

Wizards hosting the #1 Eastern conference team Bucks led by superstar Giannis. Washington without Westbrook starting former Knicks Allen at the point.

In the absence of Westbrook all players on the court seem to make extra efforts leading to one of the upset of the season. In an electrified Arena Wizkids totally dominate the bucks in the 3rd quarter, relying more than usual on pick and roll systems Neto is able to launch Capela or Mahinmi to the basket. Overall a big team performance with the luggury to keep Beal on the bench in final quarter. Troy Brown Jr elected MVP of the game.

Wizards avenged a disapointing loss in Chicago.

Wizards win at Utah

Wizards on the road at Utah to face disapointing Jaz. Washington without Westbrook, Hachimura and Bertans.

Washington took an early control of the game and Utah never looked like really willing or able to fight. Overall the real surprise and lesson learned from that game is how Moritz Wagner (who was voted player of the game) performs at Power Forward. he scored a career high 32 points in this game.

used at PF when we had both hachimura and Bertans injured he just demonstrated that he is very valuable at #4 and forms with capela at centre a much more imposing "bigs" duo. This may make Hachimura and Bertans job tougher to earn minutes when they return.

In Sacramento the Wizards totally falled appart on defense. 152 points allowed (86 in the paint). A performance which must drive some thinking for Washington if intended to make a playoff run.

Washington loosing a 5th game in a row versus Miami

Washington hosting Miami at capital One Arena tonight. Wizards on a 4 losses streak looking to bounce back against Heat with a surprsingly low (19th) rank in power rankings and theaten to miss the playoffs.

After a disputed first quarter Miami literraly blew up in 2nd quarter and never looked in a position to challenge Heat in this game. No defensive answer against the Butler (34/5/7) and Bam (21/11/0) who literraly crucified the local team. Wizards having too many turnovers and dominated under the paint could not find any answer.

So a disappointing game for the Wizkids.
