I've heard it before. From both sides. It's just a video game why are you so upset? I've never liked this argument though. It bothers me for some reason and just seems like an arrogant thing to say. We are all here for a reason and play games for fun I think. Some people take it more seriously than others and have taken it to lengths even I will never understand. But I think to be fair if it's just a video game why does EA act the way they do? When it comes to EA it's ok for them to be completely stubborn on issues that make no logical sense. Oh but it's their livelyhood. But if it's just a video game why does EA have to buy up a license? Why do they have to lock everyone else out of the business. I get the feeling these software developers want to get everyone online so they can have control over their stuff and where there is no other option if you want to play a football video game. They want to lock out used game sales. If it's just a videogame why not just give people what they want and make the best game possible and let other people do it as well in the way they want and play the game the way they want? I grew up in a different time. There were tons of games. Tons of different ways to play those games. Tons of different ways to build those games. Software was free. In more ways than one. It was a free country. But these companies, they weren't all successful. Some of them just did it for the enjoyment of it and it wasn't about the money. Some have failed. Been swallowed by bigger fish. Locked out. Didn't have business sense to beat the other guy. I think companies like EA take that to heart where if they aren't always moving forward in a business sense they could be out in the cold too. Or that's their logic, which has it's pluses and minuses. It's good for them. Is it good for gamers? I think it can be if EA doesn't get too full of themselves. But there is basically one developer who gets to horde everything but as a gamer it makes me wonder what could have been. If it's just a game why does it have to be this way? The reality is it isn't to EA. So that argument doesn't hold water.
