NBA 2K12: Coach Mode diminished

I've become a recent fan of coach mode-ing my way to a victory and with the new playcalling in 2K12 I was looking forward to having some more e-p-i-c coaching showdowns with my brother. I just recently found out how severely handicapped the mode is since they removed the most important feature of it, the ability to call plays for individual players. I've been trying to figure out the reason why Visual Concepts would do such a thing but I can't make sense of it.

Me too. I'm waiting for my complaint to be researched. I contacted 2K Wednesday; no word yet.

one fairly unknown thing you can do in coach mode is to assign a VIP to your team(as well as the opponent team really) and put player lock on for a position you want to see one player act more 'human'...they will play like you so you can coach yourself...this is in the options screen at the choose team window in exhibition....you can also assign a VIP TO your team like this when playing regular 5 on 5 and it will be like having a CPU/human hybrid team member...this is not the 'regular' VIP you have already assigned in either case...this is an additional measure that requires you to open up trhe options at the team select window..a little confusing and i wish 2k would make this clearer how to do this since i am one of the few people who seems to know about this

Thanks for that bit of info Galarius, I didn't know about those VIP modifications. Does seem a little complicated to set up though.

Hi Galarius, thanks for the tip, but I am not sure how this is the same as a coach active mode...? Even if you assign VIP to your team, and put player lock on a player, don't you have to control that player manually in the game?
Perhaps I don't get it, could you please give some more detail on how to set it up? It's really a same that 2K Sports has downgraded the coach mode in NBA 2k12, it was a great feature in NBA 2k11 :-( |

No individual play calling for coach mode?! This blows. I do not like to learn all of the moves and like to be the coach. Im not buying this game then
