I came across three videos this morning on YouTube that question whether or not the NFL is fixed. The three videos are embedded below.

Video 1 looks back on the Super Bowls of the last decade and how the NFL takes advantage of "storylines" to get the highest possible ratings. For example, 9/11 united the nation through "patriotism". This led to the country going through a strong period of "patriotism" through 2005, when the New England PATRIOTS won their 3rd Super Bowl in 4 seasons.

Another example is Super Bowl XL between the Steelers and Seahawks. In what was possibly the worst officiated game in the league's history saw the Steelers win and allow Bill Cowher and Jerome Bettis ride off into the sunset.

Peyton Manning become the league's poster boy and the Colts winning the Super Bowl is also mentioned as is the 18-0 Patriots losing to the Giants in the Super Bowl that was broadcast on multiple networks and Aaron Rodgers & the Packers winning the Super Bowl essentially ridding the league of Brett Favre.

Video 2 focuses more on this past season and how the Harbaugh brothers met in the Super Bowl - "storyline". It also mentions Ray Lewis announcing his retirement and the Ravens who were predicted by many to lose to the Colts in the Wildcard round looked like a different team in the superbowl - another so-called "storyline". The fact the Super Bowl could be a Harbaugh Bowl and Ray Lewis riding off into the sunset gave the league better ratings than Peyton Manning coming back and winning the Super Bowl with Denver.

Video 3 focuses on how Super Bowl 47 was "fixed". It showcases the various penalty calls that were not spotted by the officials and the penalty calls that seemingly weren't penalty calls that gave the Ravens advantage on the field.

These are NOT my views. These videos showcase holes in the NFL's history that I thought the football fans on Operation Sports would be interested in.
