I can't remember if they said it's just a presentation setting, or that it actually effects the counter-punches themselves. As it stands, if they did in fact say that turning simulation on would eliminate more than just the flash (in terms of counter window, counter punch damage, etc) then from what I've seen so far, I'm not buying it. To me, the absurd counter windows are still there, there's just no flash indicating you landed one. But you can still feel it, it's hard to explain.

Obviously, if they stated at one point or another it's only to eliminate the flash, then that makes sense. But I can't find anything online from them that says anything one way or the other.
the changes to presentation from using "simulation" are strictly visual, the counters are the same, you are just less likely to notice the openings which makes the game better for offline play

Re: Fight Night Champion Impressions/Questions

Been playing it all day and while the slider problem is annoying its far from a game breaker. 1) I fought two fight now 10 rounders. First one was Donaire vs. Kelley (CPU) and both of us were averaged about 70-75 punch a round. Second fight Jones vs Dawson (CPU) averaged around 60-65 punches a round. While the punch totals arent perfect....they arent completely unrealistic.

I tend to stick and move depending on who I'm fighting with. I also clinch at least once a round. With the CPU clinching more often, it adds a little bit of realism. Lowering the stamina and punch output helped.

All and all the game is really good. The presentation is still half assed though. I dont know why its so hard for EA to have complete ring walks. Or have the ring announcer repeat the judges scores before announcing the winner. Or have more than 2 victory scenes. Its stuff like that that takes away from the immersion factor.

come to think of it, being able to buy experience points might screw up Online Gym.

EA has a way of screwing up some good ideas for the sake of a few bucks.

Online Gyms are only in there for the microtransactions. They make a killing with Clubs and Ultimate Team on their other sports games, now they can milk Fight Night for extra cash too...

In Rd4 you could barely hear the entrance music. Is that the same with FNC?
I dunno 'bout last year, (PS3) but it seems pretty low this year imo.

Agreed man, i mean if they can give full ringwalks in EAs WWE,so much that Stone Cold climbs ALL the turnbuckles to let the fans know they're #1 C'mon Brizzo & Co.

I changed my presentation settings to "Sim" and it kind of takes care of itself. The freeze is still there but it's hard to know when with no camera flicker so you kind of just forget about it and box. The game plays really well when both fighters use these "sim" settings. I imagine Online is a different story, but I don't play there much so...
