Re: Bears Redux-A Bears Dynasty

Preseason 2009

Just a dominating preseason. I was going to play all 4 games, but the game froze with 3 minutes left in the 4th game. I was up 55-13 when it happened, so that irked me a little bit. I supersimmed the 4th game and won 24-6. I finished 4-0 in preseason.

Game 1-Bears 42, Packers 0

Rice 111 rush yds, King 2 sacks and a FF, Vasher INT

Coach upgrades-HC-Int Dev DL 2, OC-Int Dev WR, TE 2, DC-Lrn Dev LB2, GM-Major School Insider.

Game 2-Bears 27, Steelers 14

Woodson 300 yds passing, Doucet 114 yds receiving
Phillips INT, Washington 2 sacks

Coach upgrades-OC-Lrn Dev Te 2,DC-Lrn Dev DB 2, LBC-Lrn Dev DB2, DLC-Int Dev DL 3, DBC-Int Dev DB 2.

Traded LOLB Jordan Dizon to Rams for 2011 4th
Signed ROLB Vernon Gholston to 1 year deal
Traded ROLB Donnie Edwards to the Panthers for their 2011 2nd.
Signed MLB Tavares Gooden 78/86 to 1 year deal.

Game 3-Bears 62, Dolphins 7

Woodson 4 TD passes, Rice 125 yds rushing, Walls 108 yds receiving
King sack and INT TD, Vasher 2 INTs

Coach upgrades-OC-WR Lrn Dev 2, DC-Phys Dev DB 2, RBC-Running Back Discipline, WRC-Performance 2, OLC-Run Blocking Discipline.

Game 4-Bears 24, Redskins 6 (supersimmed)

Rice 87 yds rushing, Walls 88 receiving yds
Moore sack, Henry INT

Coach upgrades-DBC-Phys Dev DB 2

Preseason Promise-Make it to Playoffs

Notable moves-I traded HB Deuce McCallister to the Packers for their 2010 4th. I later checked and Adrian Joseph Jr was 3rd on their RB depth chart. 9 million on their cap and he's 3rd on their depth chart!McCallister was the starting RB.

Season Goals:

Beat Packers-Week 3
Win 3 of the first 4 games
Re-sign RT John Tait-NOT happening.
Win Offensive Rookie of the Year
Win Coach of the Year-unlikely
Finish with 90 + approval

I'll post my roster next.

2009 Roster

I'll go ahead and post the roster. Tait and Ogunleye will enter FA after this year, so that will help my cap status. Urlacher is the only 90+ LOLB, so i don't mind paying him 5 million. Vasher has a good deal for a Pro Bowl CB. Tillman is slightly overpaid, but not by much. I got Lance Briggs to a good deal. I'll go position, name, overall and potential, total cap, cap this year, bonus, and years left from left to right.

I realized some of the salary cap this year information was a year behind, so I'll go ahead and edit all this information.

Re: Bears Redux-A Bears Dynasty

Game 1-Lions at Bears

Like, WOW. Detroit turned out to be really good-at throwing the ball to my secondary. The game got out of hand early on, so 1 rested my starters the 3rd quarter. Woodson threw 4 TD passes, Rice ran for 100, and Vasher led the day on defense with 2 INTs. I beat the Lions 54-10.

Trades-I traded ROLB Vernon Gholston to the Bengals for their 2011 1st round pick. I then moved MLB Tiki Washington to ROLB.

Coaching Upgrades-I got Strategy 5 for my HC, Phys Dev OL 2-OC, Improved QB Reads- QBC, Int Dev TE 3-WRC, Lrn Dev LB3-LBC, and Small School Insider for my GM.

Game 2- Bears at Browns

So I wont go undefeated this year. This game was a battle of defense and special teams, and the Browns special teams won. I couldn't do anything at offense. The Browns were going to have to make a mistake for me to win this game, and they just didn't. The Browns won this game 14-7.

Coach Upgrades-DC-Int Dev DL3

Injuries-David Hale out 2 months with Lis Franc Foot.

Re: Bears Redux-A Bears Dynasty

I made a change at RB prior to the Week 3. I traded for HB Darren Mcfadden 91/97, giving up 2 2010 2nds. I hate adding on additional salary, but I felt a upgrade at HB was necessary. McFadden was sitting 2nd on the depth chart in NE and wasn't getting much playing time. It might mean trading Tillman a year or 2 from now, if I can find a suitable replacement.

One weird thing; the Patriots made the trade when I didn't put any additional players on the trade block. I put Ray Rice on the block and the Patriots wouldn't trade McFadden. I guess the Patriots really wanted those 2 2nd rounders.

Game 4- Rams at Bears

I tried calling the plays on defense for the first time with good results. I got significant pass pressure on St. Louis and disrupted their passing game. My offense also seemed to do pretty good. McFadden had a big day thanks to a 68 yd TD run to start the 2nd half, and Gino King led the way on defense with 4 sacks. I beat the Rams 44-6.

Injuries-Charles Tillman recovered from his injury after the game.

Coach Upgrades-DC-Int Dev DB3, WRC-Lrn Dev TE3, OLC-Performance 3, LBC-Phys Dev LB3, DLC- Performance 3. Forgot to post the result of the game 3 game, so I'll do that next.

Re: Bears Redux-A Bears Dynasty

Game 3-Bears at Packers

Not a lot to say about this game. It's going to be a long rebuilding period in Green Bay; at least in my dynasty. McFadden ran for 100 yds, Woodson passed for 300, and Phillips was the star on defense. I wish Green Bay would use Joseph more, he's the future of their running game. I beat the Packers 48-14.

Injuries- CB Charles Tillman 1 week-broken thumb. LG Rondell Owens-cracked leg bone-out 4 weeks. This left me without a LG, so I moved Schuening to LG temporarily.

Coach upgrades-OC-Phy Dev TE 2, RBC-Improved Ball Carrier Moves, DBC-Int Dev DB3.

Re: Bears Redux-A Bears Dynasty

Game 5- Cowboys at Bears

This one was a thriller that had to go to Overtime to determine a winner. Special teams was critical in this game.. Gould hit 3 FG, 2 from 51 yds out and the 3rd with 3 seconds left in regulation. On the Cowboys side, Olindo Mare missed an easy FG. Tony Romo suffered an injury early on that may have played a role in the outcome, as he missed most of the 2nd and 3rd quarters. He threw 3 TD passes when he was in there. In overtime, Devin Hester returned a kickoff 99 yds to win the game for the Bears 28-22.

Injury-TE Mike Peterson-dislocated elbow-miss 2 weeks.
