Re: KC BBQ'd Hot Takes: The career of Addison Morris
Burnt Hot Take: We got smoked, and not the good kind. I try not to over react to pre-season games, but this one was particularly bad. Offensively, the QB play was awful. Yet somehow, the Chiefs QB's played better than the Bears. Ingle Martin had a total of 4 turnovers, Urlacher took 1 of the picks to the house. Tyler Thigpen didn't turn the ball over, but he was wildly inaccurate.
The only bright spots on the day were Larry Johnson and rookie Kevin Robinson. Johnson rushed for 102 yards on 12 carries, 86 of those yards coming after contact. Robinson caught 3 balls for 86 yards, 56 of which came from a 56 yard touchdown in the second quarter.
The amount of turnovers really put the defense in a lot of tough spots. The team looked good against the run in the first half, but Adrian Peterson was able to find success in the second half finishing with 78 yards. The defense did shut down the passing attack for the entire game allowing only 79 yards, no touchdowns, and 1 interception.
Devin Hester added to his highlight reel returning 2 kick offs for touchdowns in the first half. Why do people even kick to this guy?
