Well guys, if everything goes according to plans, I will be a 49er next year, and hope that they become competitive once again. Can't wait!

We'll keep our fingers crossed for ya! You and CM would be the local 49er fans on here.

Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread

Congrats. Y'all just beat the worst 21-5 team in the country. Xavier absolutely sucks right now.

EDIT: I didn't want that to come off like I was diminishing the win. 49ers showed up tonight, played hard, and won. They just beat the top two teams in the A-10 within the last two weeks.

What's wrong w/X? They've suddenly lost 3 of 4. Dayton wasn't a surprise. The Bonnies & Niners is.

That's Duquesne that beat them, not St. Bonaventure.

Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread

X has no senior leadership, despite two great senior players, their PG play has been atrocious, and their best player (Derrick Brown) seems he'd rather spend more time hanging outside the 3-point line than using his athletic, 6'9" body to score down low, rebound, and shut people down on defense. What's scary is Sean Miller has somehow lost these guys as far as motivation goes. They aren't responding. They've been playing down to their competition on the road and against Charlotte they seemed like they didn't want to be there. The only bright spots have been Brad Redford, who has unlimited range, Kenny Frease, who has played better as the season has progressed, and Jamel McLean, who can jump out of the gym and is a rebounding machine, when he plays. Otherwise, this bunch is underachieving.

I'm already looking forward to next season for Xavier. They lose BJ Raymond and CJ Anderson, but they gain Jamal Crawford, Mark Lyons, and Kevin Parrom. Plus the freshmen will have a year under their belt. If Derrick Brown removes his head from his ***, gets back to playing ball instead of trying to showcase his shooting skills to NBA scouts, and stays his senior year, they have a Final 4 caliber team.
