Holloway shouldn't have chosen the words that he did, but he did explain what he meant by using "gangstas" after he said it. ESPN, or any sports media outlet, won't show that though. Still shouldn't have said it. Shouldn't have been out there in the first place. XU handled this whole thing poorly on many levels.

What really bugs me about all of this is the freakin national media is focusing more on the comments by two Xavier players immediately after a heated game and brawl, when they shouldn't have been in front of microphones, rather than the actions of two thugs from Cincinnati who were punching and stomping on people. I don't get that. That's why I hate the media.

Exactly. Really they added only 5 games because guys get an automatic suspension for a game for throwing punches. Festus Ezeli from Vandy gets suspended 6 games for accepting a meal and hotel room. But Nancy Gates gets 5 + 1 for punching several people in the face and throwing a ball at an opponents head and Mbodj the Head Stomper gets 6 games too. Ezeli's situation is totally equivalent. What a joke. I take back my praise of Cronin's post-game yesterday where he said everything right that the media wanted to hear and Xavier players became the bad guys for using the word "gangstas" and saying they wouldn't back down from someone (Guyn) slapping them in the face. What a freakin joke.

As I said earlier Gates and Mbodj should be done. Cronin made it seem like he was going to do something about it after the game, but he just said what the media and everyone wanted to hear. This is a joke of a punishment, and I'm sad to say I'm a UC student after all that happened. (My hate for Xavier has been raised though)
