2009 USC Trojans

Wow... I can't believe I'm the one to start this thread. It's cool, though. I'm not complaining.

Schedule:
Septemer 5 - vs San Jose State
September 12 - @ Ohio State
September 19 - @ Washington
September 26 - vs Washington State
October 3 - @ California
October 10 - vs Arizona
Ocotober 17 - @ Notre Dame
October 24 - vs Oregon State
October 31 - @ Oregon
November 7 - @ Arizona State
November 14 - vs Stanford
November 28 - vs UCLA

I can't believe we're playing SJSU of all teams, but being at The Ohio State University, as well as playing ND in South Bend should cancel it out a little bit. And the Oregon game in Eugene. That could be iffy. We should win the rest of our games. Oregon State's not as much of a threat when we're at home...

Taking a page from Sportsforever's Florida thread, here's a few questions:

1) Who will start at QB? Mitch Mustain and Aaron Corp are looking good, and then we've got that freshman Matt Barkley. Sanchez becoming the first SC QB since Marinovich to leave early has shaken things up...

2) The running game - will we have one or even two thousand-yard runners? I find it unlikely with the way Carroll likes to play and with most of the offense returning, but anythings possible It's much more likely that we'll have two 600/700 runners and a 500 or one 700 and two 600s. Stafon Johnson, C.J. Gable, and Joe McKnight are all great players.

3) Can we go undefeated? With ND sucking big these days and playing the lesser OSU at home, I think we can go 12-0 barring a loss to OSU the greater. That could net us an NC appearance against the likes of Florida. or Texas, but hopefully with better results than last time. We've also gotta watch-out for whatever Sarkisian's doing in Washington...

Okay, y'all, anybody post anything... As long as it's not spam.

Re: 2009 USC Trojans

San Jose State put up a pretty good showing last year before dropping their last 3. Ohio State is definitely more of a threat at home, bu theyre a Big 10 school and, honestly, as long as we take the game seriously I dont see USC losing it. Its like I say almost every year, if USC plays like they can every game and they dont overlook opponents, theres no reason they cant go undefeated. I could see the crowd at the Horseshoe giving Corp issues, but with the stable of runningbacks SC has and once again, a solid defense I dont think that should be too much of an issue.

Well, hopefully not. Oregon's option attack isn't as strong without Dixon, though they played phenomenally in that Bowl game last year. But with Chung and a lot of the rest of their secondary gone, that's gonna be weaker, too.

Corp is the starter for now.

I heard the younger backs [McNeil and Tyler] are getting the bulk of the reps

Carrol thinks the LB's could be faster than last year.

That's good on the LBs. Do you think McNeil and Tyler will take over this year or simply get a bigger portion of carries in the committee?

Neither. Gable, McKnight and Johnson will still be the guys.
