I haven't seen the name Auburn come up anywhere. I'm not saying that it deserves to be, based off of last season's results and a nice recruiting class. I just prefer when there's not much preseason expectations from the media and the college football fan base.

I still expect us to be ranked 20-25 preseason.
We were awful in 2008, above average but hardly great in 2009, and our three biggest rivals have gone 26-2 with a national championship, beaten us 3 years in a row, and beaten us 4 years in a row.

Auburn is about right where we should be. A #20-30 team with a huge question mark on defense.

That said, "preferring" to be ranked low is absurdly stupid. It's pure loser talk.

I meant, I was glad that no one is trying to over hype us or anything. Almost every year, the media picks a team or two that finished the year similar to Auburn did this year (like last year's Ole Miss).

If we were talking about a team that finished Top 5 last year, I'd definitely be wondering what's up if no one was talking about us... lol

I'm fine not being hyped up. Last time we were hyped up was 07 and that went horribly. Last year we had no hype and impressed, I expect us to just continue to improve on last year. We have a chance to get double digit wins if our D steps up a bit and we gain a little more consistency on offense.

And if we would have been hyped up in 2004-2006 we'd have 3 BCS bowls and a shot at the national championship.

You don't lose anything by being hyped but you miss out on a lot by being hyped.

Since you brought up the last 2 years, they're great examples of why it's good to be hyped.

In 2008, at 4-2 we were ranked the same as we were in 2009 at 5-0.

QB Race is over. Surprise, surprise: Cam Newton has the job. Jump on the Cam-wagon.

After seeing all of our guys in action, I'm not worried about QB. There isn't a slow, noodle armed QB in the entire group. And all we have had starting for us the last several years have BEEN slow, noodle armed QBs. (i.e. Cox, Todd).

I expected Cam, but Trotter and Caudle can both play ball.

Our offense will be sick nasty good this year...just a hunch.

Watch out for Q Carr to along with T-Zac and Darvin at WR. And Blake. And Benton. And Fannin at tailback. And Dyer. And McCalebb. And Eric Smith. And Lutz.

Damn we have some skill talent. And a bunch of hardened, SEC Veterans on the O line blocking for them.

Re: 2010 Auburn Tigers Football Thread

I'm going to level with you fellas...

I haven't been this excited about an upcoming season of college football in a long damn time. I know we didn't exactly win the NC last year, or even finish in the top few of the SEC West, but damn..

I'm also not saying we're about to roll out undefeated and win the SEC and the NC either... I'm just really ****ing excited about this coming year .
