I'm glad Kiffin is gone, I really am. Dooley had a great recruiting week when he came onboard and got some serious talent, but nothing has gone right since. Brown and Douglas are arguably the 2 most important guys for the offense, and they already lost their 3 top defenders to the NFL (Berry, Williams, McCoy). The SEC is too good for them to have this many unexperienced players at critical positions.

I actually kind of feel bad for this kid. To grow up your whole life as a Vol and to want nothing more then to be a Vol only to come to find out that it isn't the same program it was when you were growing up. Like or hate Fulmer he always had a tradition of having studs on both lines. Any kid talented enough to play TE in HS and be moved over to LT in college has got a ton of potential. It's a shame he's going to have to leave the conference to play for a big time program.

Every day something new happen inside the SEC the Ol' Ball Coach's team quietly gets better and better.

Re: Bryce Brown leaves Tennessee

There'd been rumors on Volnation for a couple of days now that Douglas was addicted to painkillers and was in rehab. Some other stuff too.

There is truth to the painkillers rumors and that he is in rehab. However, this isnt the reason that Aaron asked for a release.

Re: Bryce Brown leaves Tennessee

Brown was in Lane's doghouse. I was at the Chick-fil-a Bowl right behind the Vols bench front row. I watched Bryce Brown stand there with walk-ons. So the fact that the new staff had the same problems that the old staff had with him is no surprise here.
Coach Dooley and his staff will do just fine without Brown or Douglas. The guy is a good coach and comes from a great back ground. He is weeding out all the crap the last staff left behind. Dooley will have as many years as need here. This is the kind of coach the Vols like and wanted after Fat Phil was fired.
