I grant you that this compliant is a little winey. But,if you've never played online. Than you don't know. This this is just one compliant of many.

You can't stop plays like that. If you don't have a player rated high enough to stay with Roy Williams (like Marlin Jackson, or Chris Gamble) you will continuously get torched no matter what play or scheme you run.

That is the major flaw in EA's games. They need to give you more ways to defend. In a real game, I could assign a corner to always cover a player. I could double cover a player etc... and prevent the same play/player from killing me. However, you don't have those options in EA's game so it IS CHEESE to continually run the same play.

Cheating to me is using a high ranking team and running the same play over and over again with high success rates.

Online play for me isnt about winning all the time regardless of what I do. It's about realism, having fun, and playing football the way its supposed to.

I've heard too many stories about Miami's TE torching teams single handedly, or Texas' Roy Williams racking up 300 receiving yards, or using VTech's Marcus Vick and running for 200+ yards.

I'm not too sure if EA considers this cheating. But they may also look at the people who disconnect after you stop them on 4th and 25 at their 5 yard line.

If they were to crack down on the cheese, EA wouldnt be selling any games. Most of the gamers online play "cheese"

You have got to be kidding me?? This is what you guys consider cheating????? HEY, FIGURE OUT HOW TO STOP THEM FROM THROWING FOR 300 YARDS ON YOU WITH ROY WILLIAMS!

Sheesh, if a guy is just doing what works against you, that just means he's better than you, or you just aren't very good. I've never played online, but i can tell you this, if a guy isn't able to shutdown a certain play i have, of course i'm going to keep running it. THAT'S FOOTBALL! Hello? It's a game, and games are meant to be won.

Please keep the streak alive and do not play online. If your definition of football is running the same play over and over, then a. you are at the wrong sports website b.you are not a welcome opponent c.you know zero about the game.

if you need a definition of football look at ohio st last year, i am a michigan fan and i do not like osu at all, but they sure defined winning football last year. well how did they do it, won the field position battle, won the turnover battle, won the time of possession battle, won the rushing yard battle, wore down the other team's defense, were opportunistic on defense themselves. etc... see the super bowl if you need another example. this is football, pulling some unrealistic bs in the game, taking advantage of some over the top player rating is immature and childish and cheezy as can be.

the guys here want realistic games so either rethink your opinion on what cheating(cheesing) is or please stay away from the online lobbies. thank you for not playing.

About using the same plays over and over, for bombing with Roy Williams or Winslow or running with the QB all the time until coverage breaks down, yes there are flaws in the game which permit these.

But for runs, if NFL or college teams could get away with running a handful of running plays over and over again, they would do it. Remember Student Body Right with SC or the plays the Packers used to run. They telegraphed it sometimes and there wasn't much the opponents could do about it.

There is so far no running play that can't be stopped. And if a particular run play works real well against a particular defense, it's up to the opponent to adjust. Sometimes, one team is too good to be stopped by a particular opponent team. Those would be the 55-0 games with Nebraska playing some small school.

But most people online match up at least evenly rated teams so there has to be defenses that work.

Re: Online Cheating Questions

I think a great idea would be for the team you use and play against to be factored into your rating. What I mean is if somebody is 10-2 as Miami or Kansas St. they should not be given as much credit as a player with the same record playing as Minnesota or Oregon. It would add incentive for people to use the top teams less. Using an average team to beat a player with a good record who's using a top team would give you a real boost in the rankings as it should.

Exactly - they really need to add this soon. I think it's something they could add to the current system without too much difficulty (albeit a reset).
