I see Cam being drafted pretty high, mid first round or late first round pick. I'm not sure how he will play at the next level, he is a great athlete though and he will get his shot.

I think Mike Vick might be making Cam Newton some money right now by proving that a running QB can actually be successful in the NFL.

Vicks been the only real exception and he does it with Elite speed. Cams very hard to bring down for college players, but I don't think Pro Defenders would have anywhere near as much trouble.

Completely different running styles. Cam is a physical runner with speed. Vick is a speed guy.

True. You're absolutely right about that.

I do think, though, that Vick is sort of a proof of concept in that he's showing a dual-threat QB can work. Cam's a different style of runner, but I think someone will take a chance a little bit higher than they would've because Vick is showing how valuable a dual-threat could be. Granted Newton's a different kind of dual-threat, but a dual-threat nonetheless.

The guy making the most money off of Vick could end up being Colin Kaepernick. That dude can run, and he's got the kind of height that you'd like out of an NFL QB. Problem is that he's built like a damn stick and could get broken in half by the Ray Lewises and James Harrisons of the world.

I see Newton as closer to Tebow than Vick. Sure he has been great in college but some of that is because of the system. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking his athletic abilities at all. I'm just saying that once you get to the Pro's and the defensive lineman are as quick as they are then it's hard to run a spread style offense. So he's going to have to adapt and I think he will. It may take him 2 or 3 years though.

As for where he will be drafted, it's hard to tell. Hell, Jamarcus Russell was drafted #1. I'm not calling Cam Jamarcus I'm just saying that if an NFL Front Office really believes in him that they may be willing to go there. If I were a betting man I think he goes in the second. Only because not a lot of teams are in need of a QB and the ones that are may be looking at the QB's who were in more of a Pro system in college. Guys like Mallet, Luck and Locker for example.

Lost a bet with Ben Tate on the Iron Bowl so he's sporting the Orange and Blue.

It's also taken a while for Vick to show he's worth the #1 pick as he didn't show this type of passer ability in Atlanta. Cam is running thru the tackles of guys that won't get drafted or play in the NFL...When he attempts to run away/over Ray Lewis, he'll be on the highlight reel picking himself off the ground. To become an elite NFL QB, he will have to show he can develop vision and passing ability necessary to distinguish coverages and fit the ball between 2 defenders deftly.
