I wonder if Auburn can sustain some prolonged success or if they will just be a one hit wonder like Texas.....

Auburn gets a pass this upcoming season with so many key players leaving but can "Chiz" sustain top 10 type status in the coming seasons?

This is what I was always told, but I believe it's pretty much all myth.

The bird was named Anvre, and was cared for and nursed back to health by the soldier. Several years later the soldier, a former Auburn student, returned to college as a faculty member, bringing the bird with him. For years both were a familiar sight on campus and at events. On the day of Auburn's first football game in 1892 against the University of Georgia, the aged eagle broke away from his master during the game and began to circle the field, exciting the fans. But at the end of the game, with Auburn victorious, the eagle fell to the ground and died.

We lose a ludicrous amount of talent/experience this year. Combined with easily the toughest road schedule in the country next season (AT Clemson, South Carolina, LSU, Georgia, and Arkansas) plus home tilts against Florida, a much improved Miss. State squad, and the Turds....probably looking at a 3-4 loss season next year.

We'll definitely be one of the youngest teams in America. Most of our starters in 2011 will be True Frosh, RS Frosh, True Soph, and RS Sophs. That being said...this staff is showing it can recruit elite talent.

Offensively, we return some damn good skill players in Mike Dyer and Onterrio McCalebb at RB, Lutzenkirchen at TE, and Emory Blake at WR. Brandon Moseley will return as the lone offensive line starter at the end of the year...but A.J. Greene (guy who broke his leg vs Clemson) was the starter at tackle before he got hurt and he's back. So our bookends should be solid.

Auburn had a top 5 class last year, probably gonna finish around Top 5 again this year with the guys we'll close with...and that's not counting the class next year which will take advantage of our National Championship this past season.

We'll be talented...but so is everyone else in the SEC. We'll have about zero big game experience outside of Blake, Lutz, Dyer, and McCalebb.

I expect an 8-4 or 9-3 type year this coming year. Very talented team with little big game experience. After another top class next season..we'll be back to official "reload" status.

But look at past history. It's Haaaaaaaaaaaard to stay on top in this conference. 5 different conference champs in the past 6 seasons.

Assuming the staff stays together for the most part (obviously Malzahn will be gone in the next 2 years), I don't see why not.

Next year will be rough, but in 2012 we'll have our favorable home schedule again with 2 top 5-8ish classes having significant experience.

Obviously Auburn loses a ton of experience this year, but basically returns the whole team the next year. Due to how awful Tubs' last few classes were, just about everyone who played this year who wasn't a senior was a freshman or sophomore. We'll probably only start 3-5 seniors next year.

Yeah Cebby, I was just posting that on the AU Rivals board. We'll probably be starting a TOTAL of 6 seniors in 2011...6.

Mike McNeil at FS, Eltoro Freeman at OLB, and Neiko Thorpe at CB on Defense.

Brandon Moseley and A.J. Greene at OT and Quindarious Carr at WR on Offense.

You'd be hard pressed to find a younger team in 2011 than Auburn.

I wish Malzahn would have come back to Tulsa as the head coach but he is probably worthy of a better job.

Auburn has done well in recruiting. I expect them to take a step back in 2011, like 9-3 or 8-4, but after that I think Auburn will probably be a consistent 10-2 type team with the talent they are bringing in.

In the SEC that means they will be in the mix for conference titles and BCS games. I'm pretty surprised at what Chiz has been able to do in such a short time.
