The Reggie Bush stuff wasn't brought to light until Bush was five years removed from USC.

And they're still digging. They've only just begun to turn over the rocks. I mean, Gordon Gee himself has committed a violation before, and they reported it. The stuff that you DON'T report is always worse, and now the NCAA's looking for it.
Going on what I just lived through with the NCAA if I were a Buckeye fan I would be real nervous. The notion that OSU will somehow get let off easier because of their attitude of their officials or because Tressel resigned, is laughable. You think the NCAA takes any of that in to account?

Yeah, you could go to a dairy farm and look around for the biggest pile of cow turds you could find and that's about how much is about to hit the fan. This is bad...

I think all Buckeye fans are nervous. I have yet to run into one that isn't. I know we are in deep ****, in no way i think we will get out of this with a slap on the wrist.

People keep bringing up the death penalty.....for what? The death penalty is for programs that are found guilty of wrong doing.....put on probation, and then found guilty of wrong doing again while still on probation. No program now a days is dumb enough to ever do this. And with the money that these universities bring in annually because of, mainly football and basketball, but also in all sports. Not only would it be a death penalty to the athletic program, but it could also mean the death penalty to the entire university.

I don't think the NCAA worries about that so much as the fact that the death penalty on Ohio State would kill the Big Ten and probably cause its break-up like it did with the Southwest Conference.

Not going that route. I meant it would hurt the university financially. Maybe not OSU, but mid-level university would definately struggle financially, even with the tuition fees.

Well the breakup of the SWC is one of the more commonly-cited reasons for not using the death penalty, not the financial hardship it caused to SMU.

The only thing at tOSU that would hurt would be the athletic program. It's a research university and state-funded; they get tons of money from elsewhere.

People who bring up the death penalty simply are uninformed. Even if the NCAA were ever going to implement it again, and I doubt they ever would, OSU does not meet the requirements for such a penalty. They aren't considered a repeat offender.

I suspect a USC style punishment, which is plenty bad.
