The show is somewhat scripted. It's funny how no matter what happens some random caller can call out one of the idiot regulars and the very next call that regular is on responding.

There are idiot Georgia, Ohio State, Florida, etc. fans that call in too, but the sheer volume of idiot Alabama and Auburn fans is enough to make any normal fan shudder, especially now that it will likely be displayed for all to see.
The callers are the only thing that makes that show worth listening too. It should be on the comedy channel.

Without the callers he is nothing.

It will be interesting to see what he does when less of the callers revere him as a genius. Callers in the state of Alabama act like he's one of the smartest guys in the state. He's good at making entertaining radio but the guy isn't a genius.

Not Paul Finebaum, but I was recently back in the southeast this week for a week of training...listening to sports radio in the south was pure gold. People have ABSOLUTELY lost their minds. The topics this week included:

1) AJ McCarron is not only the greatest QB of all time, but the greatest player in the history of CFB. While they acknowledged that this was debatable, the next point was not...

2) This Alabama dynasty is the hands down, best ever in the history of CFB and it isn't even close. They then point out that the dynasty's for Army, Yale, Harvard, etc were so long ago they don't really count (but somehow all those national titles 'Bama claims from long ago do) and that no team has been close to the dominance of 'Bama (in their opinion).

It was hard to stomach...

Ya know, I felt the same way way about USC a few years ago when they were on top of their game, but can you really name a better program than Alabama right now even when comparing historically? I know I'm in a position where I'm probably biased, but I honestly can't. The success of Alabama these past few years is nothing short of incredible.

The whole AJ thing is bit of a speculative situation. The guy has more National Titles than he has games lost which is damn impressive. The rest of his team is so talented though that he rarely has to put a team on his back and be the guy that everyone turns to. So, it depends on what your looking for - Stats? Accomplishments? Talent? Team Success? I actually think that Tim Tebow is the best player to ever play college football based on everything he put together at Florida, but to each his own.

I love sports radio in the south, especially when you get somebody like this on the air:

Umm...Oklahoma comes to mind:

Quote:
The program began in 1895 and is the most successful program of the modern era (post World War II) with 567 wins and a winning percentage of .763 since 1945. The program has 23 national championships, 44 conference championships, 152 All-Americans (74 consensus), and five Heisman Trophy winners. In addition, the school has had five coaches and 17 players inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and holds the record for the longest winning streak in Division I-FBS history with 47 straight victories. Oklahoma is also the only program that has had four coaches with 100+ wins, including current head coach Bob Stoops. They became the eighth NCAA FBS team to win 800 games when they defeated Utah State on Sept. 4th, 2010.
Quote:
Oklahoma is the only school to have appeared in all five BCS bowl games.

ESPN ranked Oklahoma as the most prestigious college football program overall since the advent of the AP Poll in 1936.

Oklahoma has the most 10+ win seasons (32) and 11+ win seasons (20) of any program, as well as the fewest losing seasons (12) of any program.

Oklahoma has been ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll (101 weeks)and in the Top 5 ( 383 weeks) more than any other team.

Oklahoma was given their 10th preseason No. 1 ranking in 2011, another record.

In the "modern era", which is post-World War II, Oklahoma has the most wins with 587, and the highest winning percentage (.764) in the country.

Oklahoma has the most wins and best winning percentage in college football over the last 75 years (1935-current).

Oklahoma is the only school to have four coaches with at least 100 wins each (Stoops, Switzer, Wilkinson, Owen).

Oklahoma has had at least one first team all-conference player in 95 of the 96 seasons it has played in a conference.

Oklahoma holds the NCAA record for most consecutive victories with 47-straight (1953–1957).

Oklahoma has scored more points than any team in college football history with 32,434 through 2012.

Only one School has more unanimous All-Americans than Oklahoma with 31. Notre Dame has 33 all-time as of 2012.

Oklahoma had an NCAA-record 768 rushing yards in 1988 against Kansas State.

Most weeks ranked No. 1 in the BCS with 20 weeks (through 2012 season).

Most weeks ranked in top 5 in the BCS with 48 (through 2012 season).

Oklahoma has the most rushing yards in a season with 5,635 in 1971, which was 470 yards per game (12 games)

Oklahoma holds the NCAA record for the most points scored in a single season with 702 points through 12 games in the 2008 season (58.5 points per game).

Oklahoma holds the record for most consecutive 60+ point games, scoring 60 or more points for five straight games in 2008

Oklahoma holds the record for most lopsided instate rivalry with a record of 83-17-7 (through 2012 regular season) over Big 12 Conference opponent Oklahoma State. In fact the rivalry is so lopsided that Oklahoma has shut out Oklahoma State more times (28 - not including 0-0 ties) than Oklahoma State has won against Oklahoma.

In the 2010 NFL Draft, Oklahoma became the only school in the history of the NFL Draft to have three players selected in the first four picks of the draft.[54]

Historically? This Alabama run isn't even on the radar.

In this day and age of reduced scholarships and watered down talent? Their run has been outstanding to say the least.
