Capital One Bowl #9 South Carolina vs #19 Wisconsin | January 1, 2014 | ABC | 1 PM ET

ye old citrus bowl, some big names to keep an eye on and a good overall matchup. clowney and the south carolina defense vs wisconsin's two headed rb and playaction attack. wisconsin big ten defensive player of the year lb chris borland vs sc qb connor shaw and rb mike davis.

offense yards per play
wisconsin 6.93 (9th)
sc 6.33 (26th)

defense yards per play
wisconsin 4.53 (5th)
sc 5.42 (56th)

notes: wisconsin was never really threatened in the 4th quarter of their 9 wins, iowa was the only team who had the ball down by a score or less and they never moved the ball past their 25 yard line. badgers best wins were by 19,10,13 @iowa, byu, @minn. worst loss by 7 vs penn state. gamecocks best wins by 3, 3, 14 @ucf, @mizzou, clemson. worst loss by 2 @tennessee. sc starters wr damiere byrd and fb connor mclaurin will miss the game with injuries and wr kwinton smith did not make trip due to academics.

what a terrific performance by connor shaw. good ball game. the defense gave up yardage, but got the big stops in the 2nd half and kept wisconsin out of the endzone. clowney played well and the young linebackers came up with some crucial plays to help win the game.

Shaw was impressive to say the least. I just wish Sconnie would get a capable quarterback at some point EVER (we were lucky to have RW for one year...but other than that, they've been nothing spectacular). Stave has driven me NUTS all season long.

A day late, but Connor, Bruce and Shaq put on a show. The D was equally good in the 2nd half. Special teams remained UNspecial--- that's gotta be fixed next season.
