I have a question for anyone who may know the answer. Why does Sega use made up commentators instead of ESPN's? Shouldn't they be able to use Dick Vitale and other ESPN analysts because they have the license? Why does EA Sports, who doesn't have the ESPN licsense get to use Vitale and Nessler? That has just been bugging me lately so if anyone knows anything feel free to share.

IMO, leave them alone. that's why MADDEN has been taking a hit for year. because of MADDEN's busy schedule, he's only has time for a few lines. this year with Michaels, it's better but i bet next year it will be sour.

for as long as SEGA keeps it fresh, entertaining, and informative, i don't care if Barney did the commentary...

I don't think they had time between when they signed the deal with ESPN and the game's release to get all new commentary recorded and into it. I think next year would be the year they'd add ESPN guys if they're going to do it.

I just hope they don't steal the NCAA Football guys away from that game for 2K3, because I like NCAA Football much better and it's great with the ESPN crew.

I would agree with that, until I got NCAA 2K3 the other day, I had played NCAA Football 2003 obsessively. Your right, that would be terrible if Sega stole those commentators, NCAA Football 2K3 sucked. I would hate to see great commentators on a bad game like that. NCAA Basketball 2K3 is different though, I'd love to see or hear Vitale and Nessler on this game.

Will someone please tell me why that one announcer must SCREAM AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS "Smith has the ball!", about every 8 seconds?

The commentary is the worst of any Sega Sports game I have played. They constantly think I'm behind.

I don't want real announcers. They never do enough lines. Sega just needs to tighten it up and get up to NFL2k level - if not better with a year to work on it.
