Sony Timeline

I found this on the 1up boards. I'll probably go through it later on this week when I have enough time. Just in case anyone wanted to read this. Looks like an extremely substantial amount of work they put into this thing.

While it's not all of Sony's fault, they have done little to apologize for their delays and arrogant statements. It's a bad trend that they've started, and the more they continue the more we'll be seeing article after article on Gamespot.....day after day about something else they've done to flaw the PS3's image.

I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of flaming cow responses, but hey that's expected. I can understand their crankiness b/c I know I'd hate to be in their shoes atm. Hopefully Sony will have some sort of eye-opener to the amount of distaste they've started among gaming consumers, and will get back to what they used to do best."

Re: Sony Timeline

You can't get flamed for stating facts, I've been to many stores in my city and there's PS3's stocked everywhere and that's not good for something available only 2 months. If it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck.....

Re: Sony Timeline

As a PS3 owner it's a very frustrating time right now. Sony have really dropped the ball with the PS3 and things had better improve soon or else Sony is going to be in deep trouble.

However, I think things will improve as later in the year stronger titles with emerge such as Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Heavenly Sword, Lair and maybe Final Fantasy XIII (most likely not til 08).

Although I think the future does have some light ahead for the PS3 things better pick up quick or Sony's in for some trouble.

Re: Sony Timeline

I have no regrets in purchasing my ps3... The thing is well built and freaking looks good... Later in the year the games will be there, its just like the 360 had very few games shortly after launch...

I have PS3 and 360 and love em both, but my love for the 360 is souring a bit because my launch system died on me...

I wish I was loaded enough to short sony's stock. Which is grossly overvalued.

Re: Sony Timeline

Sony unfortunately brought almost 100% of that criticism on themselves. If they would just shut up and let their console speak for itself then they will be a lot better off. Because despite all the crap they are receiving they do have a very solid console under their wings right now.

Re: Sony Timeline

I agree that the PS3 looks awesome and I wish i could get one. I had a PS2 on preorder, a PS1 and really enjoyed them, in fact I still play my PS2 regularly.

But $600+ just to get started is way out of my price range, let alone getting an HDTV to take advantage of the PS3's capabilitites, and from what I've read out of a lot of people's price range for a gaming system. Maybe down the line it will have more used but right now how can most people justify the cost. Add to that the horrible PR they are getting and it doesn't look good for the PS3.

I am not one of those that's saying it's over yet but they really better turn it around they will be in deep trouble on the gaming side.

It will be interesting to see if a new company ever comes in to take over like Sony did for Sega.
