PS3: (80010005) error occured during start operation?? Anyone get this??

I had this problem happen to me last week. But since than it hasn't happen.

Can't be a heat issue because it happens as soon as you turn on the PS3.

yeah I hear ya.... Thats how I felt about my 360, but at least your PS3 is still covered under warranty... My 360 wasn't..

I had the same problem. The error was when I inserted a game after starting up the sytem. If I start the PS3 with a game already in it (left in from last time), then I don't get the error. Wasn't happy to start getting it either, but that's the workaround.

Did you notice this started happening right after you downloaded the 1.50 update???

Well.....alot more people have now encountered this problem. It's obviously from the 1.50 update because everyone said it started after that update!

I officially have the worst luck with systems......from ps1 to ps3 and xbox to 360. It never fails something always happens.

It's a strange one indeed and that's what happens when console companies decide to patch the system firmware thru updates. I have not been able to duplicate it on my system with or without a game in the machine. It boots up with no problems from a cold start i.e. flipping the main switch on or doing a shutdown or restart from the controller.

Mint have you tried the v1.51 update? I read parts of the thread and it says Sony is aware of the problem and would be issuing another update i.e. v1.51. I don't know if you tried that? Btw I installed v1.50 and v1.51 and no problems...strange.
