TV recommendations for my xbox360??

Hey guys- wondering if you had some good recommendations for some HD tvs. Im not really familiar with the differences between, plasma, lcd, etc. I would just like a great picture. Bright, nice and clear. I know I dont want a projection HD tv though. Somewhere in the price range of $1000- $2500 would be best.
And is having 1080 a must for an HD tv?? How much of a difference is 720 to 1080??

That is an awesome DLP set.

If i was in the market to replace my HDTV today, that Sammy would be my first choice.
