The only difference you see with component as opposed to HDMI is in your imagination because you paid twice as much for HDMI. The advantage of uncompressed data in a 6 foot cable is non-existent if the components are good quality and shielded.

HDMI are being pushed because they have become the industry standard so the industry pushes half truths to get you to buy them and push out DVI and Components. The advantages are both audio and video and alot less clutter in the back of your TV so if that's a good reason for yourself then you should get it. If you're getting it because you think you'll get a better picture don't waste your money.

Actually HDMI sends a Digital signal, in comparison to an analog signal coming from component... And I think we all know that when it comes to audio/video digital is better than analog...

And Ohh, HDMI cables cost $6.... so Twice the price is in your imagination...

I've got some wavy lines happening. More specifically, purple and green tinted waves. I just got some Monster component cables that this is happening with. Anyone know of something I can do or will I have to go with an HDMI cable?

I see more vibrant colors and better sound. Not a huge difference but still nice.
