Microsoft reveals NEW 360 Warranty Policy

Microsoft Improves Xbox 360 Warranty

Free back and forth shipping, expediated repair turn around, and new measures for Post Services

Let's say if you're 360 dies for whatever reasons and if it's not covered by warranty anymore, you pay for the repair, and when you get your refurbished/new console back, you don't have to pay for the shipping back or forth and you get another year of free warranty service on top of it. The repair process itself is also being expediated. Upon recieving the console in the mail, MS is guaranteeing a turn around within five business days. Overall, a pretty solid idea of Microsofts if you ask me. Looks like they are continuing to take repair services seriously, which is a good thing.

Yeah it would be nice if 360 would stop failing, but IMO this is a very good deal for customers

Anytime a company has to repeatedly improve their warranty policy, its not a very good sign. Means they must be getting quite a few 360's if they felt the need to overhaul it this much. However I'm not complaining. Its certainly a nice change.

This will probably get some people who are concerned about getting 360's because of them breaking to get one.

Seems like Microsoft wants to make the repair process as easy and hassel free as possible now.

Sounds good 2 me. At least they are showing some effort to help people out with a broken 360.
Peace.

this may also get the concerned buyers even more concerned to buy a 360 do to the fact that since MS is stating this about the change in the warranty, it's like there telling you up front your new console just may break down at some point, that just may sway customers away a bit.

I've never seen a console that didn't break down....when it moved to cd and dvd drive formats.

It just seems that maybe they are just trying to find all the systems that had faulty drives during production. And are finally trying to put out ones, they know 100% are good.

Not to mention the 360 is more like a PC instead of a gaming console, so it takes extra care, and customers are using them like toys.

New return policy seems good, especially when you don't have to come out of pocket or anything.
