Thinking about purchasing an original XBox...

Well I've been thinking about getting an Xbox for a while. I have a 360 and enjoy it, but as you guys know, the library isn't that big. I was a PS2 gamer so I missed out on a lot of great XBox games and I'm thinking of going back to get one and a couple games.

Specifically I want to get NFL 2k5 (I had it on PS2 but it had dookie graphics) and NBA ID 2004. If Microsoft had made 360 backwards compatible with all games, I would not have this problem. But I'm about to hit a stretch of good games coming out for 360 and I don't know how much love the original XBox will get.

Since you mentioned that there are a few 360 games that are coming soon that you are interested in, I would hold off on purchasing an old Xbox. Save that money and put it towards some of thosse 360 games.

Personally, I wouldn't purchase an original Xbox, but thats just me.

there is no point in you getting a Xbox whatsoever. The majority of the good xbox games are already backwards compatible for the 360. And as much as I love inside drive, that alone is not worth purchasing a system for. Save up for a PS3 and be merry.

one reason I want to buy a backup xbox is for NCAA Football 2004! Pretty much none of the better sports games are bc.

Seems like a waste to me, I have an xbox and i havent touched it in about 2 months except to watch DVDs on. New NCAA comes out in a month, do you want to blow 150 bucks or whatever it is on an xbox just to play a 3 year old game for a month. Maybe it'd be fun for a day or two but would you really play 04 on XBox over 08 on next gen. Spend the money on new games if your looking for something to play or wait a month because I'd be surprised if you even looked at the old xbox after 08 comes out.
