360 Freezing up @ random times?

First off I have had my xbox 360 for about a good 6 months and never had any problems, now ever since i have purchased ncaa08 whenever the xbox is on, it will freeze and the screen go blank at random times, 5min after power on or sometime 5 hours, it doesnt make sense? is my 360 dying and should i send it in, also i am not getting any error codes or the the rings of death either. i have read that putting the power supply out in the open to give it more ventilation helps and i am going to try that, i just want to see if any of you have had this problem.

Sounds like it's dying...send it in when you get the red ring of death. Mine had periodic freezes at random times and then it locked up while loading the field on NCAA 07 (a big green blob on the screen) and upon reboot I had the ring of fire.

Sorry to hear that but like Johnny said wait for the RROD before calling Microsoft.

my 1st one did this and never gave me the red rings. Your's may or may not, so be prepared. MS charges to fix it if they don't get RROD out of the box. Luckily, I had purchased a best buy warranty for only $59.99.

update, tried playing afp tonight and it did it again, so i put in dirt and it was good for about two races 10-15 mins so i put apf back in crash within the first drive of the game. so i was like **** it, so i cleared the cache and now it is runnin smooth as hell!!!!!! bk, i also have an extended warranty through MS directly so i am prepared

That's nice you got it "fixed." When that happened to me, I got the 3RL after a few more uses and freezing.

When you clear the cache, it doesn't erase any saved data right? Like saved games, videos, demos, etc.? And how do you do it?

This wouldn't apply to him as he said he's had it for about six months. The standard warranty for everything except the RROD is one year from the date of purchase.
