Just When I Thought I Was Done With Single Player Gaming

When I got home this afternoon I played a few games of All Pro and decided to mix it up a bit. I have a ton of stuff on the shelf that has been sitting here unopened for months. I decided to finally throw in God of War and give it a shot. I knew it was gonna be a good game based on the reviews, but DAMN. This Kratos fella is like the most ferocious video game character ever. I'm over here having a ball just whipping the hell out of people. The way you transition to each level is flawless, the atmosphere is great, beautiful cut scenes, fun-as-**** boss battles. I played this for a good 3 hours straight before getting up to get something to eat. I haven't been this entertained by a campaign experience in quite a while.

Anyways, enough of my rambling. I know that I'm very late with these impressions, but I just finished doing my Bob Marley and I'm still kind of amped up lol. It's crazy that it's a "last gen" title that has wowed me this much. It just goes to show you that gameplay is always the most important aspect of a title. I missed out on a lot when I gave up my PS2 in exchange for my Xbox back in the day. I never played the last Resident Evil game either, hopefully that'll be as good as I've heard. Wait I'm rambling again...I need a sandwich.

IMO multiplayer games and reality TV go hand in hand. They both share lack of creativity by the producers. Any great game usually stands on it's own merits and that's always the Single Player aspect first, games like System Shock 2, Bioshock, KOTR, Ico, God of War.

Wait till you play part 2. You think part 1 couldn't get any better.

Seriously. Played GOW on PS3. It's very smooth and still as good as the first one plus the added bonus of running on a PS3 instead of PS2. I'm catching up with KOTOR 2 on my 360 just recently and i cant believe i put it to collect dust for this long. Still have DEux Ex(sP?)....somewhere.

Buddy, I feel your pain. I've done the same thing in the last week with God of War as well. I feel that this is one of the best single player games I've ever played. I'm stuck right now at the part where you (spoiler)

have to kill the huge minotaur that is guarding Hades. I can get him down without losing much health, but can't kill him as he always tears me up once he has no more armor.

Ugh. I made it to the last battle, beat the first two parts of it, then my PS3 froze up during the third part. ARGHHHHHHHHH
