Its only for europe, because they have a unified standard. Unfortuantely for americans there is no unification across the board, San Diego can be completel different from carlsbad and cleveland could be different from cin. This is why its not in the states.

More news on this was in Steve's Other Stuff today coming out of the GDC conference. The PlayTV add-on is suppose to start in Europe next month. Do you think the add-on will be compatible with US PS3's or will we have to wait until it is available in the States?

I was wondering that myself since they are promoting this as no copy protection. I figure the US network people wouldn't be so hot on that. That's why I was wondering if the Euro add-on would work here.
