What action did you take after getting RROD'd?

Noooooooo!

So I finally got the red ring of death on my 360 (first one, purchased in January 2006). Mine was heavily-used and worked flawlessly for one year and 10 months. So I suppose I have less to complain about than many others; but I feel like complaining nonetheless.

Luckily, my warranty is still in effect, so MS sent out a box today. Unluckily, the rep I spoke to said that the current average waiting time is three to five weeks, and that's once I ship it in.

In any case, I'm torn on what to do. What with all the great games out at this time, and a bit more free time than usual, this is perhaps the worst possible time to not have my 360. So I'm thinking of just buying a new one (especially since I saw that you get Forza and Marvel Ultimate Alliance for free with a new 360), and then selling the repaired one on ebay or craigslist once MS sends it back to me. Needless to say, I'd still be losing some money on that. I'm wondering what other people did when they got RROD'd and were facing this issue.

Wow 3-5 weeks?
I sent mine in last Friday, arriving tomorrow at the repair center....when I asked the rep the turnaround time he told me 10 days, from when they receive my console.

I sent my old core in to get fixed, and bought an elite while I waited to get the old one back. Now I have 2.

My third one died on monday. Since I have a PS3 as well I am thinking of just selling the repaired one when I get it back and buying all my new games for the PS3.

Waited patiently (though i did punch my 360 out of frustration lol)

I'm thinking about selling my repaired one, eating the cost, and buying a new pro system... don't really feel like dealing with this anymore.. it's happened twice and already i'm feeling the effects of losing interest in the system as a whole, but i'm locked with all these damn games I got

Re: What action did you take after getting RROD'd?

My video card went dead last week, but didn't get the RROD. I knew CHoops would be out, so I bit the bullet and bought a new 360 arcade and slapped on my old hard drive. I'm not sure if I'll sell the replacement or give it to a friend who gave up on console gaming.
