"The issue of obesity is complex and is absolutely one our society is facing, there's no denial about that, but if you break it down I think there's an education piece: how can we better communicate to individuals the importance of a balanced diet and taking care of themselves? Then there's a lifestyle element: there's fewer green spaces and kids are sat home playing computer games on the TV when in the past they'd have been burning off energy outside."

Hey let's place some blame on videogames. It's unfortunate we live in a society where personal responsibility has gone out the window for certain individuals.

I actually agree with he said....He didn't just blame it on video games. He also stressed that a balanced diet was important. Let's be honest.....there are a lot of kids who do sit around and play video games all day and that is the reason they are fat...

I agree with the Topic Creator, what ever happened to blaming the person for being obese. I play games all the time, yet I still manage to get in plenty of exercise.

The only person/thing that should be blamed if your fat is yourself.

well he is right. I ate mcdonalds all the time as a kid, but played outside and rode around on a bike until the sun went down. I had a SNES, but we weren't allowed to play it all day on the livingroom TV. Now kids have their own cable hookup and computer in their room, and stuff like that.

Mcdonalds has always had ****ty food, but has be getting slammed since kids are getting fat recently. It's the parents and how they let their kids grow up at fault.

Why should McDonalds turn into veggie land, when there's snack vending machines in schools, people drink more pepsi/coke than water, and there's tripple cheeseburger kids meals at other places?
