Has anyone ever got the "unreadable" disc (360)....

when a game loads to almost to the game, in my case, NCAA's main menu? This happens at the exact spot every time when I load NCAA Basketball 09 and then brings up an option menu that gives me some tips to this degree:
1. disc unreadable
2. may want to try a dry cloth, etc
go to xbox.com/support

Note: this problem never occurs with any of my other games.

I had that happen with NCAA 08 last year. It played fine for the first few months then was nearly unplayable. There were no visible scratches on it either and it was traded in prior to 09 coming out. That was the only game that did that too and I've never gotten the red ring of death.

For some odd reason when the disc did work, it wouldn't unlock achievement for that game either once the dirty disc thing popped up.

I just had the same problem with Gears 2.

I ended up taking it back to wal mart. They will trade open box for the same title.

The new disk worked like a charm once I cleared the cache for some reason it seems like that helped. Not sure why.

I had this happen with Fallout 3 the night I bought it. Took it back and got a new copy and it did the same thing. The next day my week and a half old 360 got the RROD. I was soooooo pissed I broke like 9 things in my place.

Doesn't matter, I've seen this a few times on other people's consoles. It starts with just one game, then sure as the sun rises in the morning, RROD before long.

I had the same thing happen, here's what i did.

I rented the same game from Blockbuster (or gamefly or whereever). Burn it to your hard drive on the 360. Then, put in your copy (the broken one). Launch the game from the hard drive. It works, you can take back the rented copy, and you can now play your game and instead of having to rebuy the game or anything, it costs you a few bucks.

Obviously, if you can return it and get a new one, do that, but i had that problem with Rock Band 2 a few weeks ago and thats how i solved it.
