PS3 HELP - Can't connect online with wirelss

Long story short, I've sent my PS3 to sony for an unrelated issue. Got a refurb back and couldn't connect online. Called them up and sent that one in. Just got the new one back and same issue, can't connect online via wireless connection. I keep getting an "The access point was not detected." message.

The strange thing is I have had no problems connecting online with two laptops and my Wii. Seems like Sony can't figure this out either. They want me to take my PS3 to someone's house and try connecting to their wireless router.

I'm so frustrated. No one can explain why my laptops and Wii connect online but the PS3 (the second PS3) still can't. Any thoughts?

This is pretty odd. Is there any way you can get your PS3 near the same room or in the same room as your router?
