I don't think the ps3 will now come out with amazingly consistent sales that sprints them past the 360. There will be a spike initially, but they'll pull much closer to the 360 in month to month sales, and possibly even a little ahead. That's still not really going to shift the market share a lot, especially in the US. It's virtually out of reach at this point.

The ps3 is the best value right now, but both have a pretty stout lineup coming late this year and early next to push sales. Then we have the motion stuff coming out late next year.

Re: XBox 360 Elite price drop

Oh, I don't think the PS3 is going to outsell the 360 by very much, and it really is out reach in the U.S. market. September is going to be interesting. First month sales for the Slim and Elite at $299. Microsoft has a couple things going for them though, and that's the remaining Pro models in the channel are surely coming down in price to clear them out faster, and a new Halo game. It doesn't quite have the hype of Halo 3 or Halo 2, but it's going to help move some hardware.

Anyways, I think Microsoft needs to consider putting a 20GB HDD in the Arcade. $199 is a magical price point, but what's being offered isn't. They should also pack-in a 1st party title with every Elite, it would cost them practically nothing to do so, maybe some timed subscriptions for Gold and Netflix too.

Yes XBL is better for the most part but to the average consumer, BR, WiFi, better entertainment capabilities, and free online out weight the Elite.

The Elite is a price cut but no where as big as the PS3. The bottom line is the 360 stays where it is with a bigger HDD and different color.
No way it can be a better entertainment center without netflix

What model? I think you get around 80 for the system, then whatever they give you for the hard drive? Maybe a total of 120 at most (assuming you're talking an Elite).

you aren't going to get crap for a used 360 at this point in the game, especially with the RROD issue and the ability to get an Acrade for $200 brand new.

The best bet is go through ebay or craigslist and see what you can get, especially if you throw in some accessories and games. I sold a 20 gig with some games and accessories in 2008 for almost $300, but I don't know what you'd get now.
