qustion about ps3

just wondering out of curiosity and im pretty sure it can be done. but can you hook up a exturnal hard drive to your ps3?

Yes you can, it has to be formatted to FAT32 though. It also can't be used for system files (demos, saves, installs, etc) and only for storage (movies, music, backing up saves, etc). FAT32 also means you can't have files larger than 5GB, so if you plan on putting HD video on it they will have to be cut into pieces.

aww boo, so basically you can hook it up only to take like mp3's off it to put in your ps3 not to put anything from the ps3 onto it. oh well.

i thought you were able to back things up onto one too, as long as the game doesn't make it's save files protected, but i also just got mine like a month ago and haven't tried to use that feature, so i could definitely be wrong.

You can back your entire PS3 on to you external drive, not sure what the other guy is talking about.
