Valve Console Rumors

So is there any truth to the rumors I have been hearing about this?

Can't seem to find hard evidence and wanted to see what everyone else thinks?

Towards the end of last year somebody from Valve was tweeting about working on a mini-itx system and eventually tweeted a pic of the completed project he was working on, it was basically just a barebones off the shelf HTPC, and people went crazy with the rumor mill. Valve built it to show to hardware partners at CES.

Next year PC makers are going to push living room PCs (allegedly), Valve is going to make it's own version.

Gabe confirmed they were working on a living room PC of some sort at the VGAs. At this point I'm not sure if I'd call it a console, as they have distinct advantages over a PC that I don't think Valve can really rectify.

So it basically be a Console/PC hybid type deal?

My gut tells me it will be a small form factor HTPC with a cut down Linux OS, by that I mean Linux without the desktop environment, instead it boots and runs directly from Steam.
